Up for bid is a 1969 Austin Healey Sprite, lovingly restored to "reliable driver" status. I am the third owner. The car was warehoused from 2005 until 2016, when I purchase it andbrought it back to life. The body is well preserved and the paint and chrome shine nicely. There is some light surface rust and bubbling, as seen in the photos. Floor pans and underside are rock solid. All replacement parts were sourced from either Moss or BugEye Guy in CT. Any work requiring a lift was preformed by a MG/Austin Healey shop in Glenside, PA. Here is a list of new parts and/or work done:
- New radiator
- New tires
- New ignition system (distributor, coil, starter)
- Reconditioned gas tank
- New fuel pump
- New exhaust (end to end)
- New clutch
I would not hesitate to drive this car across the country in its current state. This year, I've made several 500 mile round trips from Philadelphia to Binghamton, NY without incident. If you wanted to show this car, I'd put on a new top (current one is water tight but tired looking and the rear plastic is hazed) and a period correct radio (none currently installed). Otherwise, I've done all the work. Clean PA title. Inspected through Sept 2020. Local pickup, cash only auction. Happy to answer any and all questions regarding this superb specimen.
