This 1967 Austin-Healey 3000 BJ8 MkIII is finished in Ice Green Metallic with dark green Everflex convertible top and boot over a biscuit leather 2+2 interior and powered by a numbers-matching 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes a dark green soft top, a front badge bar, new burl wood dash veneers, driving lights, 5 new vintage correct 15″ chrome wire wheels, and a new Moto-Lita steering wheel. The car was acquired by the seller in 2021, reportedly following a refurbishment under prior ownership that included a full nut and bolt, concourse rotisserie refurbishment. This BJ8 Mk III is now offered in Texas with a book of refurbishment photographs, Driver’s Handbook and a clean Texas title in the name of seller. The engine tag matches the number listed on the title. The exterior color is Aston Martin Racing Green and listed as Ice Green Metallic in Austin Healey color chip book, published in 1999 by Donald Vikovnik. Donald Healey did not like the British Racing Green, but because he felt honor-bound to campaign his cars in England’s official racing color, green, he chose Ice Green metallic instead. This color was used on some early 1953 Austin Healey’s, including NOJ391, a special test car that was raced at LeMans. The complete chasses was powder coated in Ice Green Metallic. All the original fasteners, brackets, and linkage were plated in bright zinc. Many parts including most of the suspension parts, brackets, and top bows were powder coated for durability. Any parts that needed to be painted had high-grade PPG 2-pack paint applied to them. All hydraulics are new, including steel and rubber brake lines. The entire electrical system is either new or rebuilt and includes a new wiring harness. All the chrome has either been triple-plated or new. There are five new 60-spoke chrome wheels with stainless steel spokes and five matching tires installed. The windshield and door glass is new. The suspension was taken off and dis-assembled and new parts used in assemblyincluding new springs front and rear. All four shock absorbers were sent out and rebuilt. 1967 was the last year of production of the Austin Healey 3000 and this is a most sought-after BJ8 model.
