Description of 1961 Austin Healey 3000 3000

BETTER THAN A BARN FIND!! This 1961 Austin Healey 3000 Mark 1 was originally shipped to Hawaii. then brought to the dry climate of Arizona in 1985. She was lovingly restored. and set aside in a climate controlled warehouse for 30 YEARS!! I bought it from a gentleman who was going to start a museum and acquired the car in 2001. He did some minor repairs over the next couple years. but health issues forced him to give up on his vision…. he ultimately sold all 25 cars that were in his collection. Since I have had the Healey I have done a number of items to the car. The most needed was new seats. carpet. and panels (completed 4/2014). I obtained a Heritage report that was matched using Moss Motors color and pattern specifications. This Big Healy’s chrome and brightwork is certainly a 10. The paint is clean and bright. I would rate it an 8 due to a few nicks that a skilled dent guy could easily repair. The motor is strong. does not smoke. and has minimal (if any) leaks. She does not over heat. and has perfect oil pressure. The transmission shifts smoothly. It has a leak at the area around the overdrive. and the electronic overdrive does not work (all parts are in place). The gauges all work. as do the lights. There is a matching wire wheel spare. This would be an ideal car to drive on weekends as is. of finish the restoration to start your own museum! I have receipts dating back to 1985 ($13. 00 in total) showing all the work done to the present. I have it on numerous on line sources for sale. I'd end early for a quick and painless sale.
