Description of 1957 Austin Healey Other

For sale is a 1957 Austin Healey 100-6 BN4 4 seater (VIN BN4L-0-30821). I bought this car from a gentleman who had spent $25+k restoring it himself. but eventually gave up due to lack of time (see detail of what has been done below). My goal was to have its restoration completed; however. I have too many other project cars. so have decided to move on. In general. I think this is a good project car for the do-it-your selfer. and could be on the road pretty quickly with some work. Additionally. a lot of the “expensive stuff” has already been done. It has already had all mechanicals restored . but needs exterior cosmetic work done and the interior installed. It is complete and comes with almost all parts to finish the project (see below). With that. here is a detailed list about the car:My understanding is the car is numbers matching: VIN bn4l030821 and engine 30821. I also have the original bill of sale. It was found in Texas with ~41k original miles before beginning this restorationMajority of mechanicals have been professionally overhauled: Manny’s restorations of upstate NY completely rebuilt the engine. carbs. transmission. etc. Car has received new gas tank. gas lines. fuel pump. master brake and clutch cylinder. Differentials and brakes have been rebuilt. The car starts up and sounds greatAlthough not in picture. seats have been reupholstered in red with white piping. Car comes with complete interior kit to finish remainder of car in red leather with white piping (door panels. carpets. etc. )The body is pretty nice and straight. Patch panels have been done with original parts from England. Car is currently in primer. The chassis has the usual wear for 100-6’s. but is generally solid (see pics). To be clear. the exterior will need more work before ready for paint (see pics)Includes 5 wire wheels: 4 wheels on car have new tires (have been sitting for 1 year); spare wheel needs restoration and tireCar has received a new wiring harness. although lights still need to be hooked up. Wire diagram is included with the carCar comes with 2 steering wheels: new. “modern” healey wheel and original wheel (although original wheel needs restoration)Car comes with a bunch of other finishing parts. including shift knob. all new chrome strips to go in all the fenders and quarters. lights. etc. Comes with original shop manual and tagsI have included a pic of what the prior owner said was outstanding before the car would be “done”. Please note that the car still needs an exhaust system and convertible top. Other than that. the car is generally “complete” This car is currently registered in New York (although it is located in dry / indoor storage in Vermont) and title will be transferred to buyer (should be very easy to title in any state). This car is being sold AS IS. To be clear. it is not in driving condition and the buyer will need to finish this project before it is safe and ready to be used. My reserve is very reasonable.
