previous high bidder was bogus and never acknowledged any deposit or payment.....deadbeat jokester....i suppose!!!!!! recent health issues as well as being 75 years old have prompted me to sell one of my austin healeys. i opted to keep my 1963 bj7 and to sell the1958 100-6. i bought this car with the intention of keeping for years to come but time has changed that. the previous owner bought the car in colorado andshortly thereafter moved to las vegas. when he retired he and his family moved to new jersey. according to him the car was seldom driven in the last severalyears before i purchased the car. for the same reasons i am selling so it was with him. i bought the car a year and a half ago and brought it to south carolina. since i have owned the car i have replaced the rear differential with a rebuilt unit: had the speedometer and the oil pressure gauge rebuilt by nisonger instruments; replaced the front shock absorbers; replaced the bushings on the rear transmission mount; had the radiator boiled out and cleaned; replaced the rear axle seals; converted the electrical system to negative ground to include new pertronix ignition alternator belt fuel pump and filter; installed new radiator hoses; installed new correct trunk lid gasket; and several other miscellaneous items. the previous owner had completely redone the braking system to include new master cylinder new brake lines new brake hoses new wheel cylinders and new shoes; replaced the clutch cylinder; installed stainless exhaust system; installed new correct SU carburetors; spin on oil filter adaptor;replaced the exhaust manifolds; installed three point safety belts; rebuilt side curtains with new rubber gaskets felt and new perspex; and replaced the main battery to starter and battery to ground cables. the car has a new optima red top battery. the car has a later 1963 3000 series engine and center-shift transmission and overdrive.....the engine starts and runs good but could use a tuneup to the carburetors. the transmission shifts okay as well as the overdrive. i usually double clutch when i shift and i feel the transmission probably needs some attention. it does leak!! the engine does seem to overheat especially in traffic on a hot day. the previous owner removed the front air deflectors which guide air into the radiator at speed. i have these and would suggest that they be reinstalled. i would also recommend that the radiator be modified to improve cooling. the left turn signal does not work and the windshield wiper motor and heater fan are not currently hooked up the frame and outriggers are solid and there is no apparent rust issues. i would correct most of these issues but just not able too at the present time. even though the speedometer has been rebuilt it does not register. i assume it is in the right angle drive unit on the transmission. i have the heritage certificate for the car. the original color was ivory white with a black interior and top. the car was built in late may of 1058 and the dealer destination was paris france. this is a no reserve auction and i think that my opening price is fair for this model and and year. if you have questions i will do my best to answer. i am available by phone if necessary. if you require other pics please ask. i will be glad to assist with helping to see that the car is properly loaded and protected should it require shipment.....thank you On May-13-15 at 12:19:07 PDT seller added the following information: please if you have a less than 20 feedbacks contact me through the message function so that i can approve you. otherwise i am afraid that i will have to cancel your bid/bids.
