Offered for sale is a 1960 Beardmore London Taxi. It has been used for the past 8 years as a shuttle vehicle at our Saratoga Springs NY Inn. The car was purchased on eBay but was originally used in London England. The four cylinder engine starts and runs well. The clutch is strong and brakes were recently serviced. The body is made out of aluminum so there is no rust. The paint is very good but does have some fading and spotting on the hood and elsewhere - nothing serious. The back window has some discoloration of the tint but is clear when looking from the inside. Windows are manual pull-up versions without a crank. Taxi on-duty and directional lights work well. It has 4 brand-new radial ply tires that cost over $1000. Handling is vastly improved with radial vs bias-ply tires. The speedometer is broken but it has about 38,000 miles on it. The taxi drives and handles quite well for a 55-year-old vehicle. The turning radius is extraordinary. The lettering on the door is a decal and is very easy to remove with a hair dryer. The car is sold "as is" and carries no implied warranty.
