In 1956. when British citizens were looking to downsize their petrol tanks due to fuel shortages. British Motor Coporation (BMC) introduced a miniature car that was more nimble and spacious than its German contemporaries. and aptly named that car. the Mini. When John Cooper saw the Mini. he recognized its potential for performance and quickly worked with BMC to create the Austin and Morris Mini Coopers in 1961. Due to their compact size and nimble handling. Mini Coopers competed successfully. winning the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964. 1965. and 1967. The Citroen DS won in 1966 due to a technical disqualification of the Mini Cooper team. Though small in both name and appearance. the Mini Cooper packs a major punch. This 1984 Austin Mini Cooper comes in the beautiful black-on-black with the iconic checkered roof in Olde English White. Though there are some minor imperfections near the gas cap due to fuel spillage over the years. the paint is otherwise great and the car absolutely gleams and turns heads everywhere it goes.
