This vehicle is a RHD 1960 mini 850, badged Austin Seven. It had a major body rebuild and engine modification in 1996/1997 in preparation for the 1997 Monte Carlo Challenge. It completed that rally and was then sold at auction to the previous owner. The car is mechanically very sound and the engine modifications completed by Avonbar (the leading mini race engine people in the UK at the time) make the engine performance to be more like a spirited 1200 instead of the standard 850. Body rust is an issue and can be seen in the floor boards as well as bits and pieces here and there. Other rally modifications include a 1/2 cage roll cage, full harness seat belts, sump guard, upgraded heater and an all-purpose fire extinguisher. Included in the sale price will be a rare original alloy roof rack as fitted to early Monte Carlo entrants and two sets of wheels (one set of race/snow wheels and one normal set. Hubcaps are also included. The car has been in the US in my possession since 2002.
