Description of 1967 Austin Mini -- |
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1967 Austin 850 Mini for consideration. One of the most recognized cars ever produced Mini production started in 1959 and was an instant success. It's transverse engine front-wheel drive layout influenced a generation of car makers and became one of the best selling cars in Europe. The UK subcompact developed inter several different versions including a wagon pickup truck and of course the Mini cooper. With all four wheels "pushed out" to the far corners... of the vehicle interior space was maximized and a wide stance was achieved which gives good balance and nimble handling. The transverse engine planted weight over the front tires provides excellent traction and grip. The 1967 Austin 850 Mini Sedan offered here is a very tidy example finished in original Indigo Blue over Grey Vinyl interior. The car is powered by what appears to be its numbers matching 848cc transversely mounted inline 4 cylinder engine 4 speed gearbox and driven by the front wheels. Documentation on hand indicates that this Mini spent much of its life in Christchurch New Zealand until it was legally imported into the United States February 14 2003. The car spent some time in South Carolina until the car was acquired by a Michigan enthusiast who put the car through a mechanical and cosmetic restoration spanning from 2006-2008. Since the car has been privately held and well-kept and today remains in excellent condition throughout. The exterior paint trim and bright work are excellent the interior remains very clean and tidy showing some patina and the engine and bay area appear unrestored original and clean. Mechanically this little Mini is spot on and remains a spirited drive and is a blast to climb behind the wheel. Highlights include: Right hand drive 4 speed manual transmission front bucket seats rear bench trunk spare tire jack wrench heat and sliding rear glass. British Motor Corporation's Mini's remain one of the most recognizable and adored cars on the planet. There small size and handling characteristics make them a must have for and motoring enthusiast. For these reasons these cars remain solid investments and high quality examples are globally sought after. Documentation includes: New Zealand Application to cancel registration US DOT import paper original point of purchase sales brochure many receipts documenting the restoration and recent services performed on this Mini.
