Description of 1962 Austin Healey 3000 Replica |
For your consideration is my father's 1962 Austin Healey Sebring Replica made by Classic Roadsters Ltd. He is the 2nd owner and has owned, loved, and cared for this vehicle for the past 16 years. He has asked me to help him thin out some of his collection. This car shows 10,524 miles since being assembled and is believed to be accurate, with the car only being driven to an occasional car show here in central Florida. Although I am no expert on this car, I will be representing it as accurately and openly as I can to have a successful auction and a happy buyer. This car was assembled using the popular Ford Mustang II frame and running gear. It utilizes a 2.8 V6 and 4-speed manual gearbox producing roughly 135 brake horsepower. Making it surprisingly similar to driving an authentic Healey 3000. The car sounds great, is a blast to drive, and commands attention anywhere you take it. The interior looks great, no rips, tears, or other major flaws. Gauges look nice, with no fading or defects. Carpet does not show any major wear and still feels plush and soft to the touch. Door panels look nice and doors fit and function very well. Windows roll up and down nicely with no issue. Boot cover is flawless and snaps tight with button fasteners. The overall condition of the convertible top is nice, with the exception of a few small tears in the stitching. The exterior gel coat looks very nice, however, there is the usual scratch here and there as the car is not concours perfect. The paint has a nice shine, no signs of sun fade, and a shows a high-gloss reflection. There is a small stress crack about 1/4 inch near the trunk hinges that I took close pictures of. Bumper and light bezel chrome looks excellent and shines nicely. There is a blemish on the very front of the driver door I also took a close picture of. Engine seems to run well, shifts through all gears nicely. No grinds, pop outs, or other concerns. The engine does not appear to leak oil or coolant. Engine runs cool and uses an electric cooling fan and large copper radiator. Does not need oil between oil changes but does smoke (oil) slightly at idle. Could be as simple as a pcv replacement or perhaps valve stem seals showing their age. Could be driven for a long time the way it is. I took a video of the exhaust at idle. I also took a video of a walk around, both viewable on Youtube. I will include links at the bottom of this description. This vehicle is offered with a CLEAN Florida title, a very reasonable reserve, and is sold in as-is condition. No warranty implied or offered. $1,000 non-refundable deposit required via Paypal at auctions end. The remained may be paid in cash or controlled bank wire transfer. Buyer is responsible for vehicle pick-up or shipping. Thank you for looking, feel free to ask any questions, Happy Bidding!
