STK 2578 1967 Austin Healey 3000 Mark III British Motor Corporation announced the release of the Austin Healey 3000 MKIII in February 1964. The MKIII BJ-8 remained in production through 1967 when manufacturing of Austin Healeys ceased. This stunning 1967 Healey 3000 Mark III is a fully restored example of the last 'Big Healey'. During the restoration process, numerous enhancements were made to improve safety, performance and aesthetics. These efforts were certainly not in vain. The frame, chassis and all... body panels were primed with rust preventive primer before the body was professionally refinished in Lincoln Navigator Estate Green. Stunning chrome wire wheels w/stainless spokes mount period correct red-line radials. (Note that the rear license plate was moved down to the earlier AH location.) The interior was reupholstered in high-grade tan vinyl and, along with the walnut dash and functional clock, is very impressive. A matching top and tonneau cover are virtually flawless. As for the rest of the interior, look at the photos again - this passenger compartment is stunning. The factory 3.0L motor resides in a spotless engine compartment where most components have been either polished or chromed. The in-line six was totally rebuilt in 2003 and, with the two HD8 SU carbs tuned to perfection, purrs with 150bhp. Upgrades include a ribbed alloy pan for cooler running, large capacity radiator, stainless exhaust and aluminum fuel tank (same mold). The original Healey 4-speed was replaced with a Toyota Tacoma fully synchronized 5-speed w/short throw shifter â€" quieter, lighter and cooler. When mated with new differential gearing of 3.55:1, road performance is significantly enhanced. Electrics have been converted to 12-volt negative ground with a new harness,Euro-headlights, solid-state ignition and gear reduction starter. Brakes are power-assisted disc/drum and from tow-hooks have been added. If you have always wanted an Austin Healy 3000 MKIII, do not delay. This is your Healey - photos do not do it justice. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
