Description of 1956 Bentley Other |
I've had this motorcar for 37 years and now it's time to let her go. It has less than 500 miles on a fully rebuilt engine with a stainless steel exhaust system. The Connelly leather seats were redone a few years ago -- note the special split front seat, which was ordered from the factory that way. New Wilton wool carpets are installed, but the carpet edges need to be bound and fitted with snaps, all of which are included. A copy of the owner's manual, build sheet, full owner history, receipts, and other papers are included. A full and complete tool kit is also included -- all the tools are original with the exception of the 'King Dick adjustable wrench. An original jack, tire changing tools, and tire pump are fitted in the trunk, along with a spare fan belt. Various and sundry other items go with the car, including new door weather stripping. I removed the old weather stripping -- which is also included -- in preparation for a new paint job that I never had time to do, so one gallon each of Black and Silver Cloud lacquer paintare also included. All the instruments work, as does all the lights and horn. The clock was overhauled a few years ago, but now it doesn't seem to function. I think the problem is in the stem, but I don't have time to fool with it. The tires have around 1,000 miles on them, but have developed flat spots from sitting in one spot for 5 years. They should return to round condition after a few miles of driving. The braking systems have been completely restored and contain Dot 5 brake fluid. Please, ask questions before bidding, not after. I'm sorry to see the car go, but I no longer have a place to keep it inside as required by my collector car insurance company. On Jul-05-16 at 17:49:02 PDT, seller added the following information: The last pictures show the rusty rocker panels.
