Rolls Royce/Bentley had announced the launch of a brand new completely redesigned Saloon. Since the R-Type Continental had been given enormous praise. a new Saloon was in the works. The Silver Cloud and S-Type cars were to be the first of a long line of cars that shared the same styling with each other only varied by their grilles. The Silver Cloud and S1 Saloons carried a straight six engine that would be power the cars until the introduction of the V8 engine for 1959. The new Saloon was made from Pressed Steel and the doors. hood and boot lids all were made from aluminum. The new Saloons were 3 inches longer and gave ample amount of room for 5-6 passengers. The S2 and Silver Cloud II were introduced in spring 1959. Aesthetically the same as their predecessors. the Crewe team had been working hard on mechanical refinements. The new V8 6. 2 litre engine was a huge step forward and gave the Saloon better performance. In late 1962 the company introduced the final iteration. the Silver Cloud III and S3. Some say the final version to be the best of the three with its twin headlights on either side. The classic Silver Cloud/S-Type cars continued until 1965 when they were replaced by the Silver Shadow/T-Series cars. European Motor Studio is proud to offer this absolutely stunning 2 owner 1963 Bentley S3 Saloon finished in Shell Grey Metallic/Caribbean Blue Metallic with Grey Connolly leather interior and contrasting blue carpets. This S3 left the Crewe production line in 1963 and was sold new to its first owner in England. where it remained until being imported into the United States in 1975 by its second owner. The second owner. who was a member of the Rolls-Royce Bentley Owners' Club. bought the car in 1975 and brought it to Arizona. where the car has remained ever since. The car has been maintained to a high standard and has enjoyed numerous outings with the Rolls Royce and Bentley Club. This S3 has just undergone a complete exterior restoration. The entire body was completely stripped down for a repaint. Everything came off the car for the repaint and the finished product is stunning. Most of the chrome on the car has been completely replated. all rubber. top to bottom. has been replaced. including the tires. The front lower seat cushions have been replaced. all of the carpeting has been replaced. the original wood is intact and in excellent condition. free from any damage or cracks. The trim. headliner. switchgear and chrome are all in excellent condition. The car has just undergone a recent tune-up and runs and drives beautifully. All of the electricals in the car are in excellent working order. including the lights and windows. The AC is blowing cool and on all the fan speeds. The undercarriage is in excellent condition and free from any rust or damage. The S3 marks the final iteration of the Silver Cloud/S Series of cars from Rolls Royce and Bentley. The S3 or Silver Cloud III is the most desirable and most reined of all the series. making it the most desirable.
