Description of 1993 Bentley Continental GT COUPE |
1993BentleyContinentalTurboR This is a relatively rare automobile because even though it was built by Rolls Royce at Crewe, Cheshire England, the coupe body style was unique to Bentley and not shared with Rolls like so many other models were. Of the 1236 Continental "R" models built, only about a quarter were left hand drive. When it was built, the Continental was considered the fastest (and most expensive) car you could buy. Under the hood is the legendary 6.75 L Vickers V-8 (412 cu in) paired with a GM 4 speed automatic transmission and Garret turbocharger. The sport button on the shift lever will adjust the shifting speeds and suspension for more aggressive driving. The previous owner purchased the car from the estate of the owner who had restored the car to new condition. It is finished in Artic White with an all leather tan interior. The leather headliner is snug and the seats show virtually no wear. The wood trim is in nearly flawless condition. The front seats have track extensions for long legged drivers. The heated seats, power windows and locks, etc. all work as they should as do the heat and air-conditioning systems. The car is in near show room condition and has won awards at local auto shows. The low "Auto check" score is very misleading! Several years ago, on an annual registration event, the person recording the mileage inadvertently dropped a decimal which resulted in an abnormally low millage reading. This error was subsequently corrected on the next report. A cursory review of the car's history will show where and when this obvious error was made and corrected. There are, in fact, no issues with the title and the odometer reading shows the true millage.Right now the car has 45,000 +/- documented miles. It is currently registered and has a current state inspection. I do take it to car shows and drive it occasionally on nice days so the mileagemight be slightly higher when you come to look at it.
