Description of 1989 BMW 3-Series 325i

For sale is a 1985 325i 5-speed manual from the factory with ultra low miles at approx. 91k and is verified by Carfax. This car has been in the family for many years and sat in the garage because of a punctured gas tank and bad fuel pump. Never in an accident and freshly repainted. Now after an extensive restoration over the last 2 years is offered for sale.

Over the course of the last year many new parts have been upgraded or replaced. The idea for the car was to be a great SCCA racer but too many projects force sale. With this in mind the car comes with many upgraded parts.

Suspension

-Tire carrier delete. Saves about 80 pounds in the rear. Was done at a professional shop and reinforced on the bottom. Coated in metal spray (2012)

-Short shifter and linkage installed (2015)

-H&R race springs (red ones) from Turner Motorsports with new Bilstein shocks (2015)

-Rims and tires- Very rare deep-dish aluminum rims. New tires. Running fat Toyo's in the back and slimmer Kumho's in the front. 16 inch rims all around. The Toyo's have less than 500 miles on them (2015).

-Gas Tank and gas tank lines

-Slotted rotors and ceramic brake pads (2015)

-Power steering pump rebuild (2013 I think)

-Alignment (2015)

Engine

-Shorty headers and header gasket and bolts

-Custom cat back racing exhaust (2015)

-Cooling system overhaul with silicone cooling hoses (2012)

-Aluminum radiator and mounts (2012)

Electrical

-Upgraded to electric fan- Less friction = more hp and it's reliable (2012)

-LED lights in the hood. There was no engine light in the engine bay from the factory. Nice upgrade (2012)

-Completely Rewired box (2012)

-Upgraded to 325is trip computer with computer operating 100% (2012)

-Door speaker wiring upgraded to accommodate individual twitters. Never put them in but doors come wired like the 325is (2012)

-Pioneer speakers in the front and back (2012)

-Red gauge lights and chrome bezels around the gauges (2012)

-Battery (2013)

Cosmetic

-Genuine Sparco seats with specific E30 brackets. I don't know the seat model but they where not cheap. (2013)

-Never in an accident just repainted this year. Have pictures of it in original faded paint. Needed it. Very nice job (2015)

-Very rare leather rear bench seat with armrest and head rests

-Headliner has been redone (2012)

-Tint, 0% I think (2012)

-z3 antenna conversion (2015)

-Spoiler Lip (2015)

Known Needs

-Sunroof motor is starting to go. Never used it. Can get one in the yard for about $30

-A/C unit needs recharging several times a season. Most likely there is a leak in it and needs to be resealed.

-Very small crack in the corner of the dash, ay 2 inches.

Summary

Very fun car to drive with this suspension set up. Handles like a go-kart. Grab a helmet and 5 point harnesses and you are ready for the track. Really nice paint and racing seats are not overbearing. Clean California title and for a CA buyer will comes with smog done. Also will come with a lot of receipts from over the years. Great looking and driving car and will be sorry to see it go.

I've tried to list everything I can think of and will update the ad if anything else comes to mind. The car is located in Los Angeles. If you have questions please message me and ask responsible questions. Please don't ask ‘what is your price'. It's an auction with a reserve. Thank you for looking and bidding.
