Up for sale is my 1986 BMW 524td. I am a professional mechanic and own and operate my own garage. I bought this car as a project from the previous owner and it was not running at the time. He had installed a "Greasecar" (this is a professional system and not a hack job thrown together, ts a nice setup) brand name veggie oil system on it and was running veggie oil thru it, he injection pump started leaking. So he took to a friends shop to be fixed. They took the injection pump off and sent it to Antrim Diesel in PA to be rebuilt. They were in the process of reinstalling it and putting the car back together when the shop closed and that is when I bought the car (as well as another 524td that they removed the entiredrive-trainfrom). So I started back from square one really and put a new timing belt on it, et the IP timing and got it started. I drove it up and down my street, round a nearby park. Everything seems to be in working order but I am not tagging or insuring so Idon'tknow what it does at highway speeds. It is hard to start at first but idles just fine after it comes to life. While running it black smoke comes out the tailpipe a lot, o it think it is getting too much fuel. I DISCONNECTED THE GREASECAR FUEL LINE, O THIS FRESHLY REBUILT INJECTION PUMP HAS HAD NO VEGGIE OIL RUN THROUGH, NLY STRAIGHT DIESEL. I left the entire system on the car but disconnected the fuel line from it. So the buyer can decide what route to go with it. The Instrument cluster does not work but does light up. The spare parts car has one in it though. I wasoriginallygoing to keep this as my shop vehicle but I have way too many projects and not enough time to deal with all of them, o this one needs a new home. The car is in really good shape and has no rust issues whatsoever, t has sat for a bit so it could use a good detailing to bring back the paint. The interior is in good condition but it is missing the seat backs for the front seat and they were not with the car when I got it. So included in the sale is the running/driving 86 as well as the parts car if the buyer wants it.Thewindows are tinted and the windshield is cracked but the parts car has a good one in it. Included is the block heater cord (these are not to easy to find). I have been as up front as I have knowledge of so please call and ask any questions you may have before bidding as I am not accepting returns. I can meet a shipping company right at my garage but the buyer is responsible for arranging shipping. NON-REFUNDABLE Paypal deposit of $250 is due within 24 hours of auctions end and full payment is due in 7 days. I will accept Cash or a Cashiers check for the remaining balance.
