Description of 1989 BMW 3-Series 325i |
1989 BMW E30 325I 5SP MANUAL - BMW COLLECTOR OWNED - DIAMOND BLACK METALLIC/BLACK INTERIOR NO RESERVE AUCTION - this is the most desirable year and model for the non-M e30 coupes (good luck finding another one that isn't rusted through and priced under $10K). It has the factory small plastic bumpers (not the aluminum "diving boards"), the "i" version has a much higher rpm limit than the "e" version or the standard 325. The 1989 325i has improved coolant hose routing as well compared to prior years. The 1989 model also has the sport steering wheel compared to the less desirable airbag models of the early 90's. For those asking what the buy it now price is to end the auction now, the price is $8500. 1989 BMW 325i E30 RWD two door w/ 5sp manual transmission- original and unmolested. This car has been relegated to weekend use (BMW events) and was rarely taken out of the garage since he purchased it in 2004 with 173K miles (it has only 176K now! ...that's 300 miles/year). My father was a BMW collector and has downsized and moved south this past winter. Several family members inherited different cars, and I was lucky enough to get this one and the 1988 325Ci convertible that is also for sale in a separate ad at this time (this ad is for the 1989 coupe only). I have no time to enjoy these with small twins and could use the garage space. Exterior There are no dents, dings, scratches on the vehicle. The VIN numbers match everywhere. The paint has a nice rich, deep shine. There are zero rust issues. I can email additional pics of wheel arches, bottom of battery tray, undercarriage etc to show no rust (ebay only allows 24 pics). Interior The interior is in great shape and the original seats show almost no wear. I have taken the seats out for a couple of the pics in the ad just to show how clean the carpet and seats are. The carpet is clean and the mats are brand new fitted floor mats. The only non-OEM part is the CD player installed but I will include the original BMW tape deck head unit to return to stock if desired. There is one small 1-inch split in the driver's seat seam that is barely noticeable and could be stitched easily without replacing the seat bottom cover. The sunroof is a manual crank sunroof. The windows are power and work as they should. There are no dash lights/check engine lights lit. The one display for the temperature etc lights up but the pixels cannot be read anymore. The speedometer and odometer work great, although the tach is sporadic. Mechanical The vehicle runs great and has no mechanical issues that would prevent it from driving home a long distance if so desired. The steering response is tight and all four tires are brand new this year. The engine, transmission, clutch, power steering, brakes, and suspension all work flawlessly. The timing belt was replaced at 173K miles. Recent work done this year: Four brand new matching tires - July 2016 (less than 200 miles on tires) New fuel pump/fuel filter New spark plugs/plug wires New air filter Oil change/oil filter The car is 27 years old and will qualify for classic plates or antique plates (emissions exempt) if you chose to go that route. I currently have use the antique plates. I currently pay $10/month for full coverage classic car insurance. DETAILS & TERMS:
