Description of 1986 BMW 3-Series |
Up for sale is a 1986 BMW 325 with Clean title in hand. VIN: WBAAB5409G9692171 Mileage: 236,XXX Odometer gears have been replaced. Color: Cosmoblau - Metallic I’ve had the car since 2013 and had the title transferred from California to Washington in 2015. She has sat in the garage for about a 12 months and finally had the time to freshen her up and put her up for sale as I have another e30 that is my new daily. She is a manual 5 speed with the stock 2.7L M20 eta motor and has a SSSquid chip which helps maintain a more linear power curve and raises the rev limiter to 5200rpm. The car still gets about 30mpg on the highway. Car runs and drives great and is always a blast to drive. She feels at home when cruising. Idle is steady but a little high; hovers around 1000-1200. I think the Throttle Position Switch(TPS) is about 1mm off or so cause you can touch the throttle towards idle and it'll drop about 200rpm. A good tune up would serve her up well and keep her going strong. I have an aftermarket stereo installed in the car. The stereo consists of an Alpine UTE-52 headunit connected to an Alpine Powerpack amp with MB Quartz components up front and Infinity coaxials in the rear. There is also a 10” JL sub in the trunk with some sound dampener on the trunk lid to reduce rattling. Pros: Clean, straight body Paint in 7/10 condition, no fading but has chips Minimal rust, originally a California car Timing belt & thermostat just replaced Coolant has been flushed with timing belt change Brake fluid flushed July 2016 Spark plugs replaced Oil just changed Tabs good til August 2017 Cons: Suspension bushings need to be refreshed (e.g. FCABS worn out) Gear shift bushings are old = slop+play Chips in paint Dent under driver side tail light Aluminum bumpers have pitting Driver seat has sheepskin cover due to tears Gauge cluster will not light up (bulbs look good; have a spare headlight switch) Power steering squeals occasionally (has full fluid, could be because it hasn't been driven much) All imperfections are as seen in photos. I can provide more photos thru a Google Photo album if you would like. Just message me for the link. I’ll include a handful of small parts that are planned to be replaced and just haven’t gotten around too. For example: rear brakes, new antenna, etc. That’s as much as I can think of so feel free to ask any questions you may have. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! |
