Description of 1991 BMW 8-Series |
These cars are becoming more and more rare and the prices are going up. Not to mention the new 8 series concepts have been looking like a promise and can only raise the value of thiscollectible. I have puta lotof time and money into this car to keep it enjoyable. The next phase of its life should be somebody who really wants to make it perfect or their own. It is about to hit 144k and most likely will go over 200k without any issues. This car feels strong! Overall A great daily Driven 1991 BMW 850i. Currently registered and smogged in the state of California. There is a dent in the drivers side door and can have that fixed before sale if interested parties request for it to be fixed. Other little things that would need to be addressed to be perfect would be the pixels in OBC going out, sunroof headliner coming off in corner, and the driver side window needs to be adjusted. The only thing mechanically the car would need is the DK motors to be cleaned and a small power steering leak from time to time. other then that the car has plenty of power from the V12, drives great, gets looks, and is so comfortable. All the dynamic suspension works great from sport to comfort, transmission shifts great and the motor is leak free and has plenty of power. Sound system sounds great and the CD changer works as well. all the windows work, and heated seats work (passenger seats needs to be adjusted or greased to move more freely and the driver seat has a small hole in it). The biggest issue with these cars seem to be the cooling system. This one runs at the perfect temp according to the gauge and have never seen it climb past half under hard driving and sitting in CA traffic. This car did belong to somebody and his family for over 19 years and am in contact with them. He claimed the dent from the drivers door came from grandma borrowing the car and getting backed into another grandma at church. Apparentlynothing was done about it. The guy I bought it from was going through a divorce andcouldn'tattend to its needs. It had sat for a few years under non op. I have replaced power steering lines, new control arms, wheels and tires, and some other little fixes. There is an original spare in the trunk as well as the whole tool kit including original flares and BMW rag. If you have any questions, please email me at rickysgarage@msn.com. I am willing to ship out of country but it will be up to you to figure out shipping. thank you and hope you get to drive this BMW home! -Rick |
