Description of 1992 BMW 3-Series Base Convertible 2-Door

Thank you for your interest in this absolutely beautiful example of an E30 325i convertible factory M-Tech car! These cars are very rare and getting more rare as time goes by. They are also becoming increasingly more valuable as well. The M-Tech Appearance package car came intriple white or black for convertible models. This car came in white with white leather seats, white door cards and white 14" basket weaves. It also started its life as an automatic as most of them did. The previous owner who owned the car from 2005-2016 had the full swap done to a 5-speed manualtransmission including the rear end to a 3:73 limited slip rear end. It was done right and no expense spared. He is an older gentleman out of Colorado who is a car collector with just under 20 cars! This car is super clean inside and out. It has never been driven in the winter months or seen any snow or moreimportantly any salt or corrosives. Theundercarriage is flawless as well as the body. There is no bondo or body work anywhere on the car. I have had the car looked at by a very reputable body shop in my area as well as a specialty BMW shop whocouldn't believe the condition of the car. They have never seen an E30 this clean and especially not an M-Tech. I know the car was resprayed from the moldings up approx. 5 years ago using a factorysingle stage paint as it came from the factory with. Its a 9 out of 10. The previous owner told me he also switched the 14" basket weaves for factory euro 15" basket weaves in silver. The original wheels were supposedly curbcrashed and he felt the 15" wheels looked much better. The original full size 14" white basket weave spare tire is still in the trunk. Looking inside the trunk shows you also how clean and meticulously maintained this car has been over the years. All factory bmw labels are still on every body part. No parts ever swapped on thisvehicle to the best of my knowledge. The car runs and drives excellent! No cracks on the dash. The radio works well and the factory power antenna and power top are still fullyfunctional aswell. The car came with a black top but before I purchased the car, the top was replaced along with the tension straps with a brand new german top in dark navy blue. Itwouldn't have been my pick as Iwould've kept it original but itdoesn't look bad at all. The seats appear to be original as well as the door panels but someone at some point did prep and paint them tan. they did a very nice job at it but I want to make sure to be as clear as possible. The front shocks were done as well as the rears but I believe the rear passenger shock is blown. It does make some noise. The timing belt, water pump, coolant hoses, thermostat, cap & rotor, radiator, indicator panel on roof, valve cover gasket and valve adjustment were done about 800 miles ago right before I purchased the car. A/Cworks very well, heat works great, heated seats believe it or not! The power mirrorsaren't currently working. One was and not the other but now neither side works soI'm guessing its just the switch. I have extra window switches in the glove box. They came with the car when I purchased it and they will go with the car. The exhaust is original. Its still in great shape and has a fantastic exhaust note! Power windows work well. Gauges work well but at times the MPG needle gets stuck. The on-board computerdoesn't seem to work properly. As stated before, the power top still works like it did the day it was new. Mostdon't and people convert them to manual. The shifter is anoriginal m shifter that lights up and the bulky air bag steering wheel was replaced with an M-Tech 1 steering wheel. There is also an IS spoiler on the rear trunk. The front valence has a couple screws holding it up on the sides. From lots of picturesI've seen of these cars, it seems to be a common thing as the previous owner stated. The clips are weak and people tend to dothis same exactthing. The front grilles were painted satin black and I replaced the sealed beam lights with H4 conversion glass lights. Much brighter but an easy change back to sealed beam if desired.
What else can I say? This is a super clean and rare car. My plans for this car were to strip it down to bare metal, remove the engine and have the entire car re-painted using top grade base coat-clear coatfinish. I was going to get bbs wheels in 17" and re-do the interior back to lotus white to make the car look like a stock but modified version of what it should be. Its also perfect the way it is. No rust or body work/fillers, originalpanels, super straight car with no accident history. Rare for something being 25 years old. Its notperfect. It needs the rear seal where the drive shaft enters the back of the transmissionwhich I have the part oem frombmw and it will come with the car and a ball joint boot on the right tie rod is torn so I will also include that part which is alsobmw oem. I believe one of the front brake hoses is slightly dry rotted, some dry rot on the sway bar end link bushings as well. The emergency brake works but needs some adjustment. Nothing major. I also have a set of Bilstein Sport shocks. The rears were installed and used about 100 miles and the fronts are brand new. I bought them from a mechanic who decided to go with coil springsfor drifting. I will include those with the purchase of the car as well. The original steering wheel will also be part of the sale. No one wants those but being a rare car, I wanted what I could get that came with it from the factory. I have posted what I think is important for pictures. If there is anything else I can help you with, pleasedon'thesitate to ask. I hold the title clean and clear. I can also assist in transporting the car. I have a very flexibleschedule so meeting with acarrierwon't be an issue.
Idon'tthink Im forgetting anything but if i did, Ill be sure to add it to the listing. Bid confidently. I have 100% feedback and I expect to keep it that way. I try to list every single issue as I have been burnt before.
I know the car has always run on therecommended oil, castrol 20-50. Ididn't change that. Car runs very well and super smooth. Why change it now. These engines are good for 4-500K miles from what Ive seen and heard.
The tool kit in thetrunk is completeminus thepliers if I remember correctly and I have a repair manual in the trunk that will be there when youreceive it.
I wrote 102,800 miles. thats not exact. the car is in storage for the winter but I can get the exact. its 102xxx....
