Description of 1989 BMW 3-Series Convertible |
Moving and don't have a garage to keep her in. Restored with the intention of keeping it forever, no expense spared. I had my BMW motorcycle color matched and also planned on keeping that forever. Motorcycle is sold and I'm selling my garage queen with original dash and interior in very good condition. I am the second owner and the previous owner only took the car out for weekend trips on the expressway. I bought the car in 2010 when the older gentleman passed and my girlfriend fell in love with her new pingy-mobile. Engine, transmission wiring and anything that looked original was replaced with fresh BMW seals, service and maintenance is up to date. The Good: Back window is clear and easy to see through Rear main seal and transmission seals were leaking, so while the engine and transmission were pulled out for service, it only made sense to replace all other seals, gaskets and rubber as preventive maintenance. I thought the cost of labor was a lot, but Global Imports proved that parts CAN cost more. Parts not available from BMW were sourced from Pelican Parts, eEuroparts, BimmerMotorWorld and Strictly German. Interior and Convertible top checked over by Marietta Auto Trim. Original wiring that commonly goes bad on 80's cars was replaced by an electrical engineer at lockheed martin. He used aircraft grade wire and terminals, went over main harness, fuse box and more. (See Pictures) Doesn't need Emissions because over 25 yrs old Largest parts recently replaced: Timing belt and tensioner, water Pump All engine and transmission seals, gaskets, grommets, sensors 4HP22 repair manual + repair kit All engine/trans body rubber mounts Alternator Distributor Cap and Rotor Crank Position Sensor --> 173 ECU Windshield All belts, coolant hoses, including large main T coolant line Heater hoses and thermostat Front Struts and rear shocks, shock mounts Rubber USB and Aux Radio + 600 watt amplifier Polk DXI Speakers Dash Cover & more The Bad: Odometer doesn't work A/C lines hold pressure, but doesn't turn on Paint is fading in a few spots, mostly on the plastic 3rd brake light Small vacuum leak Check engine light is on, code reader says O2 sensor right front oil line to oil cooler is leaking, took a while to find it, dealer ordered wrong line, have documents to fix. Girlfriend hit a gas pump on right front fender, and rubbed a fence on right back corner Those are all the receipts I can find at the moment, but I will keep looking and adding as I find them. I now live on the other side of georgia from my GF and car will be shown at my Dad's house in Marietta, GA. Car is available to see most days after 6PM, but weekends work the best for me. I have a long drive to meet and show the car, please no tire kickers or joy riders. Email works the best, as it goes straight to my phone (like text message) via wifi even when I don't have a signal. Working M-F, moving and driving a lot, but I will do my best to answer questions in a timely manner. If I don't have my hands full at work, most responses are within a few minutes. Due to spam, please look through pictures for my contact info and number. On Jan-15-17 at 09:09:45 PST, seller added the following information: This is a NO RESERVE auction, I am keeping my schedule open this week in case anyone would like to see and drive the car before they bid. Will try and get a carfax report in my spare time. Car is for sale locally as well, first come-first serve. |
