1974 BMW 2002 automatic Hi there! I'm selling my 1974 BMW 2002 automatic coupe. Garage kept. I love driving this car, it's super fun to drive... but we have 4 cars and BMWs aren't my specialty. I bought this car out of Southern California and have put a fair amount of work into making it what it is now. The car runs and drives excellent. Good:
- All the rust danger areas are super clean, front towers, rear shocks, front floor & around the windshields etc. Original California car
- When I bought it the transmission was slipping. I found and had installed a new transmission.
- The front seats have been re-stuffed and re-covered.
- Engine runs excellent and has great compression
- Chrome all in excellent shape
- Glass all around and lenses all around are great
- Front fog lamps and rear stop light on bumpers work excellent
- The paint looks excellent from 10 feet, though upon close inspection there are some cracks in the finish here or there.
- No risk of a leaky sunroof (and mildew) with this 2002. Side note: I never drive the car in the rain, though I had to for these pictures this weekend! It's been raining a lot here lately....
- I've put a lot of work into making it even better... re-did all of the hoses (California rubber was no good), replaced the guibo, replaced the front suspension strut mounts, and more. More than $2k in work (in addition to the new transmission that was installed).
To do:
- 2nd wiper arm is not installed... which never bothered me because it's typically not driven in the rain, but likely should be done.
- A/C is not operational
- Odometer and speedometer not working (typical issue)
All around really a great car. You can't beat the price for this much fun! The car is available for inspection and test drive in Portland OR. I'm happy to work with your shipper, as well. The car should be picked up within 10 days of sale. Thank you!
