This 1979 BMW 635CSi is a European-market E24 with an M90 inline six, dogleg five-speed manual and a factory black leather interior with Recaro Seats. Imported to the United States from Germany by a military officer, the car has only covered 51k miles since new. A recent oil change, brake fluid flush and safety inspection have been performed. I would personally trust driving this car cross country at any time. The car has a clean and clear Tennessee title. My Father purchased this car in the late 90's with only 20K on the clock. Shortly after, He decided to remove the cylinder head for some port work and installed a Schrick cam. These are the only modifications to the car and it runs extremely well. It also has a new battery and new Michelin tires. The original BBS wheels have some minor rash, but are clean and straight. My fatherwas a Factory Trained European Mechanic his entire life and owned his own shop until he passed away in 2014. The engine cranks and runs flawlessly with no leaks smoking or rattles. The transmission is quiet and shifts as it should. One huge bonus is that this car has "add on" Air Conditioning that was converted to 134 last year. It blows COLD. The Graphite Metallic paint is in good condition overall, showing a nice deep gloss with some tiny chips here and there. The car has had 1 respray (before my father acquired it) and shows no evidence of any previous body damage. All panels line up as they should. As you can see in the pics, there is a piece of bumper trim missing on the left front. A Genuine, NOS BMW part has been ordered from Germany and will be installed as soon as it arrives. The slim Euro bumpers include a non-wraparound rear on these earliest E24s, looking straight here over the first-year air dam. Aerodynamic lift was said to be substantially reduced over the earlier spoiler-less 6-series cars. The slim, close fitting bumpers along with the spoiler make for a great all around appearance. The interior has worn well, featuring a clean dash and black leather upholstery. The drivers seat shows some wear and patina from age. The headliner and visors are clean and tight-fitting. Underneath the mats, the original carpet is clean and in exceptional shape. Behind the back seat is the original BMW First aid kit. Over all, this is an excellent car that is in much better than average condition. If you are interested in the car, I will strongly urge you to come see it in person. It will not disappoint. If you would like a Mechanic or specialist to inspect the car, this is welcome at MY location. I am selling this car simply because I do not need it. It hasn't been driven a great lot since my father passed in 2014 and even though he loved the car dearly, it doesn't help me to look at it in my garage every day. This is a cash or bank transfer sale only.I require a $1000 deposit within24 hours of auction end. The remainder is to be paid by bank transfer within 7 days. The vehicle is to be picked up within 14 days unless other arrangements are made. I can offer personalized shipping with my truck and trailer, but I cannot compete in price with larger couriers.
