Description of 1988 BMW 6-Series

231k miles. bought in 2009. It is a 5 speed!!! Very rare. Has the best world bumper style for the U. S. (short smaller bumpers) with the best fuel injection and most power among all the years. Only 246 US 5 speeds were made in 1988 and 1989. Best color combo and drivetrain combo as well. For shipping I have a friend of mine at Lucky Star Auto Transport in San Jose. CA and maybe able to get a good deal for you. Maintained by family member who is a BMW mechanic. It was maintained meticulously throughout the years everything was fixed always on time. I only put in 30k in 6 years. This engine will easily run to the 400k miles without major problems. I am selling it to save money for down payment and have many cars. Color is gray outside and gray interior with black plastic covers black dash. Leather interior and rear factory water cooler refrigerator built in armrest. AC works blows cold. Heater works. Wipers. fan. lights. cruise control works. Power seats. mirrors. doors. windows. sunroof. steering (all work). ABS Negotiable items that I can pull to lower the price if you want the original look. - Wheels: Currently sitting on 18" M-Parallels from a seven series with newer 6 month old tires on rear good tires front. Rear only has max 2k on it. $1050 front is 18x8 with 235/40/18 rear is 18x9. 5 with 255/45/18 - Brand new reupholstered early style recaro sport seats in black leather. Used in early E24s and E21. Porsche leather pattern extremely nice. Electronic seat adjustments also works using stock seat adjustment bottoms. Stock seats are available and they work however they are old and a worn. but clean. Could be used for a long time with seat covers. Cost of $1300 - NEW M-Technic II steering wheel. Cost of $450 Have original steering wheel. Airbag does not work. Great drivers car. it actually is one of the best sixes that you will ever find mechanically. It is very solid. If you want to buy a six for less and fix it up to be as good as this parts only will cost you over $5k plus labor. Car has limited slip differential. - Rear euro spoiler oem uninstalled cost $300 included in this sale. EXTERIOR UPGRADES: Clear euro front turn signal lights $100 HID low beam lights 6000k $100 HID fog lights 6000k $100 Shadowlined (chrome is covered with black matte tape it is easily reversible if you prefer the chrome look)Rear bumper chrome is plasti-dipped to black. It could be pulled off if you prefer chrome. MAINTENANCE: cooling system replaced 2014 August. gas pumps were replaced. drive shaft. flex disk. diff sealed. starter. catalytic converter. Paint is ok on the side. Car will need a paint job eventually if you want to have a really nice looking car. Right edge of front fender is damaged from someone hitting the car while parking shown in pictures. Easily fixable when the car is going to be painted. It is right above the clear turnsignal. Also the front right bumper and bumper filler rubber strip cover is cracked shown in pictures from the same hit that is also fixable when being painted. The cost of fixing these is about $200 for the filler and bumper cover. White scratch left rear on bumper cover and quarter panel. No dent. Front spoiler has a crack in the middle. fixable when painted. Clear coat peeling close to the windshield. It is not rusted!Driver side door panel shown on picture has wear. Once this car is painted it will be a truly wonderful classic. Everything else is perfect. There are 2 lights on the control panel. Airbag since I changed the steering wheel so no bags. Rear lights which is to the light switch ($80 item) that we were too lazy to fix. but the lights work all the time fine. Cracked dash. common unless you find a showroom condition car.
