Fair condition E36 with 276,000 miles on M50 engine and 5-speed manualtransmission; does not burn oil. I drive this car hard every day and it's still strong, fastand fun; drives tight and straight as expected from a BMW; no vibration to 120mph (and possibly beyond). The good:- Replaced alternator at 154,800 miles.- M3 exhaust upgrade installed at 160,020.- Ignition coils replaced at 192,000.- Idler pulley, tensioner pulleys and drive belts at 227,000.- Clutch kit, flywheel, shifter bushings, driveshaft flex disc guibo and centersupport bearing, transmission mounts, engine mounts, fuel filter, O2 sensor at 231,800.- Front and rear brake rotors and pads, rear calipers at 232,500.- Catalytic converter, fuel injectors, spark plugs at 241,800.- Front suspension complete overhaul and lowered 1.25", alignment, waterpump, radiator hoses at 242,000.- Radiator, expansion tank, heater core, thermostat at 266,000.- Extra set of steel wheels with snow & ice tires.- All fluids changed at prescribed intervals.- Gauges, cruise, windows, locks, interval wipers, heat, air conditioning, sunroofall working. The bad:- Oil leak from valve cover gasket and possibly elsewhere. Needs 1 quart addedroughly every 1000 miles.- Parking brake is disconnected.- Underside of body is rusted through in several areas. Overall integrity ismaintained, but interior carpet gets damp after driving in heavy rain.- Rocker panels and jacking points are rusted through; M3 ABS side skirts areinstalled to hide this corrosion.- Rear quarter panels aft of wheels are beginning to rust as shown in photos.- Heat works, but climate control does not regulate temperature; it's either onor off.- Interior is worn. Vinyl covering is separating from various panels in the backseat area. Driver's seat stitching has come loose. Center armrest leather iscracked.- Both sets of tires have about 25% tread remaining.- Driver's side seat belt does not retract without assistance.
