Description of 1974 BMW Other |
You are looking at a good restored 1974 bmw 2002tii with rare european bumpers. The car was delivered to Northwest BMW motors Toronto in 1974. From the beginning it was serviced there with original receipts avaliable. According to the second owner. he purchased the car in 1980 at 62k miles. From 1980 to 2013. it was seldom driven and was stored in his barn for the remaining 33 years . The odometer shows as 86k miles to be the true milage of the car. I have receipts of the car from 1974 to around 1985. The second owner decided to restore the car back to original as much as possible around 8 years ago. Since the car was barely driven for the passed 33 years. the amount of rust on the car was limited. Any known rust was removed and re-sprayed with epoxy primer with a two stage paint. The rest of the car also was resprayed 6 years ago. The color still shows a strong shine. Rust spots were mainly in the back part of the right side rocker panel and both front fenders. The front fenders were removed and replaced with new fenders. New engine parts: - replaced with a new starter motor. new spark plugs. new distributor cap and distributor cables. new reburbished brass radiator. new timing belt. new reburbished valve cover and gasket. new manifold gaskets. new gas tank. new fuel pump. new head light holders. and new reburbished kruger fisher air filter holder. Alternator tested. radiator boiled and tested. wiring loom tested and rewrapped in certain placesThe old US big bumpers were replaced with Euro style bumpers and professional wrapped by Abing Motors and restoration from the second owner. The rest of the car was sanded down and repainted to the original color of Bmw Sienna Braun. The interior is the best part of the car. As you can see. the dash is absolutely perfect with no cracks or fade. The front seats are never sagged and are in perfect original condition. However. nbsp; the driver's side seat has three line cracks which were redone by Trim up upholstery. The back seat is in perfect mint condition. The car also has the original BMW logo factory coco mats ( super rare to find in almost mint condition. )The original door panels were cracked. rittle and bulged from rain stains. They are now replaced with new panel boards and clips. The trunk covers also have be reburbished and resprayed to give them a fresh look. I also replaced the front grill. front and back badges with brand new ones. It also has the original dynatronic AM/FM radio with one working rear 70's speaker. One interesting note is that the spare tire is absolutely brand new and original. The original steel tires and rims were replaced with Alpina style 13" rims and tires. The overall condition of the car is very good. Like any older classic. there are still things need to be attended to like the clock and the fan. The clock is working coz you can hear the ticking. However. the needles don't move. The fan is not working but the heat seems to work when turn on. Other than these two problems. the car has no other issues that I can recall. The 2002tii fuel injection engine is super reliable and starts at the turn of the key. I have tried to describe the car to best of my knowledge. The car is sold as it and welcome viewing at anytime. Also. the car is available to sell within Canada. |
