Description of 1992 BMW 3-Series 318iC

For sale is this 1992 BMW 318i convertible. Color is Laguna Green with a new OEM black top and an extra clean black interior. This car was manufactured in Germany, and imported into Canada where it stayed its whole life until 2018. About 1 year ago, I imported this car from Canada into the United States and to my home in California.

I purchased the car for $10,000 and spent about $2,000 more getting it into the United States. Unfortunately, dealing with the California DMV is not easy. I do not have the time or money to try to get the car registered in California. Maybe some people know the process, but I am a novice at importing cars, and I don't care to learn the process that California requires.

I have hardly driven the car in the 1 year since I brought it in from Canada. It was fun to drive and nothing seemed to be wrong with the car when I did drive it. Body is nice, interior is nice. It idles smooth. One of the better examples of this time period that you'll find. Because the car has been sitting around a lot, the battery died, so I replaced the battery a few months ago. Other than that I haven't done anything to it, it's a nice car in good shape. The car is a pretty low mileage car with the odometer showing 115,267 km or 71,624 miles. There are no liens and/or loans of any kind relating to or attached to this vehicle.

AutoCheck Vehicle History Report showing no accidents or any other issues whatsoever. AutoCheck score was 44, and typical range for similar cars is 24-43.

I have the following documentation, that I can provide to any new owner:

· U.S. Customs Clearance forms

· Paperwork from the transport company that moved the car from Canada to California.

· Original Canadian registration paper with the former Canadian owner's signature on it .

· Bill of Sale from the former Canadian owner to me, signed by both the former Canadian owner and me.

· Bill of Sale from me to the new owner that buys car from me.

· Vehicle Verification form completed by the local California DMV office in Glendale, CA.

· Receipts for my payment of $1,000 and $9,000, when I purchased the car in July, 2018.

Importing vehicles over 25 years old are Department of Transportation (DOT) exempt from meeting federal motor vehicle safety standards (FMVSS). Over 21 years old are Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) exempt.

To meet California smog exemption requirements, the car must be older than 1976. This does not make cars newer than 1976 impossible to import to California, but there are extra requirements, and testing.
