Description of 1984 BMW 3-Series |
1984 BMW 318i 5-Speed Manual ~Original Northern California Barn Find in storage over 14 years~Original "Alpinweiß" Alpine White Paint~5 Speed Getrag 240 Manual Transmission~Rare period correct authentic BBS Body KitEconomical and Reliable M10B18 Engine~Clean Auto Check report with above average 61 score NO RESERVE AUCTION We have a 1984 BMW 318-i 5 speed in Alpine White tan cloth interior. The car is powered by theBMW M10 SOHC 1.8L 4-cylinder the power is sent to the rear wheels through the Getrag 240 5-speed manual gear box. This car has been in storage for the last 14 years (since 2006) and is not currently registered for the road. A duplicate California title was issued in 2004. We are in the process of liquidating a large private collection of over 300 vehicles and this vehicle was part of the collection and not used Mechanically: The 1.8L M10 single over- head cam inline-four cyliner produced 101 horspower and 103 ib-ft of torque when new. The battery was replaced and the little 4 cylinder fired right up and runs quite well. The idle sometimes wonders up and down and was told that possible a new idle control valve would be a remedy. The engine seems to run cool with no visible leaks. It would be recommended that a tune up and service be performed as it has spend a lot of time with little to no use. It seems as a good running engine and the 5 speed transmission shifts smooth in all gears with no known issues, the 4 cylinder pulls strong in all gears and the rear end seems to perform well. Body: The car has a Clean Car Fax and Clean Auto Check score of 61 which is above average as most 36 year old vehicles in this Luxury segment score between 24 and 43 . This cars report is free of accidents or other damage The original Alpine white looks to be original with no sign of previous damage or repair. IT also has what looks like a painted (no a sticker) pinstripe on both sides. The body is straight however the paint has some thin spots primarily on the hood. The car does have minor paint chips or dings through out the body to be expected on a 36 year old vehicle. The car did have some 80’s era mono chromatic which was popular at the time including a period correct BBS spoiler and air dam and rear BBS body kit that can easily be removed. The rubber impact strip on both front and back have been painted white and the paint is peeling in places. The interior is timed in tan with manual windows and a manual sun roof, it is missing the interior head liner section below the sun roof, the sunroof will need some deferred maintenance from lack of use. The dash a few cracks and 4 spoke steering wheel remains in place. The front seat belts attachment is in/op no sure why the aftermarket shift boot should be replaced, and it does not have a shift knob. Virginia through its most recent entry in May 2018. A driving video is viewable below. This E30 is now being offered in North Carolina at no reserve with a clean Carfax report and a clean Virginia title. TERMS OF SALE I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO:
