BMW 7-Series. Up for auction is a 1990 735IL e32 California car. This car has lived it's entire life in the dry climate of Fullerton California. My father in law was the second owner of this classic BMW. He treated this car as his baby. He was an engineer so was very meticulous with all the mechanical details. He passed away last year and it is time for the car to go to another BMW enthusiast. The car has 106,200 miles. This car is just at the beginning of its lifespan. These 3.5 liter engines were thought to be the best engines BMW ever made and routinely go to 300,000 miles. BMW really made high quality cars in that era. The e32 was thought to be the most sophisticated luxury car at this time. This car is the iL model which is the extended wheel base model providing an additional 6 inches leg room in the back seat.We have all the records for this car from the time it left the dealership in Santa Ana including the original window sticker and promotional pamphlets. My father in law drove this car sparingly. In the last five years he did not drive much. However, this did not stop him from making improvements. In 2016 he repainted the car in the original Bronzit champagne color and reupholstered the front and back seats in the original BMW leather. The paint job cost $4500 and the upholstery $1700.The car drives well and has excellent power. It is a very fun and comfortable car to drive with excellent visibility. Tires were replaced in 2014 and have excellent tread life as the car has been driven sparingly since then. The car passed the stringent California smog test with flying colors. The emission levels were minimal and well below acceptable levels. Before my father in law stopped diving he had a fender bender where he misjudged the distance to the wall in his driveway. I have had the passenger side fender and grill repaired professionally and it is back to original shape. I also have done a few other repairs to bring the car up to excellent running shape. I will list them below.RepairsBattery replacedGas Lines replacedcoolant sensor replacedSunroof and 4 way lock system repairedEngine oil and other fluids/coolant replacedWork to be done-minor itemsPassenger side lock was replaced at one time and doesn't function with 4 way systema/c may need charge/blows on max but not coldSpeedometer does not move until driving first 4 miles the day.
