Vehicle Details Up for auction is my beloved 1957 BMW Isetta Cabriolet. This car has an amazing history and has been the most fun car I have ever owned by far. I’ve had things come up in my life and unfortunately I have to sell. This was a last resort, but so goes life. This car was restored by the 2nd owner back in 2004. He had owned it since 1995 or so and spent all of those years restoring it a little at a time. All of the drivetrain, brakes, dynastart, engine, chain gear etc was sent to Werner Schwark for rebuilding. Since the restoration was completed the car has just put on 1960 miles. I have a pic of the odometer at “1957” miles :) This cabriolet is considered a resto mod because they didn’t come with a 2 tone paint scheme or factory “Z” molding. But it was done this way because he loved the way it looks and I also agree! The car sat for many years without moving so when I got it I went though all the systems again. New wheel cylinders, oil pan gasket, exhaust straps, rebuilt master cylinder, fuel valve, silent blocs, rebuilt hood shock, all new fluids. Everything works exactly as it should. I’m running a Mikuni carb at the moment. I am very familiar tuning them so I put it on for tunabilty reasons. It starts at a touch of the key cold or hot. I do have the oem Bing carb that is rebuilt and ready for install if someone wanted to change it over. I also have new and used parts (see pics) that will come with the car. It has never been detailed and I wanted to keep it that way. It’s just been wiped down and always stored in a tempature controlled garage. Car is absolutely gorgeous inside and out and needs nothing mechanically or cosmetically. If anyone has any questions please feel free to reach out. It has a clean and clear title in my name and in hand. I am personally selling my own car. This is not a consignment deal etc so you will be dealing with me directly. Good luck! |
