| This a CLEAN. well-running. very rare 1985 BMW 524td. Only around 1500 of these vehicles were imported into the United States from Europe in the mid-80's. and it has been estimated that there are only maybe 100 of them still running and on the road. This vehicle is a rare classic that would be perfect for the BMW or diesel car enthusiast and is a fresh. sportier alternative to the Mercedes Benz diesels of the same era. This is a well-built vehicle with a strong motor that has a lot of life left in it. The gas mileage is fantastic (on my last fillup. I got just over 30 mpg combined city and highway driving) and the car handles like a dream on the twisties. There have been many upgrades and fixes to this car. including cool carbon brakes and drilled/slotted rotors to bring this heavy vehicle to a halt. fast!As a 30-year old vehicle. it shows some obvious wear and tear. and not everything on this vehicle is in perfect. working order. Whatever defects I am currently aware of. I have listed above. The NADA guide has the vehicle listed at a hair above $7. 00 for a perfect specimen. but given the condition. the reserve and Buy It Now options have been priced reasonably ($4. 00 and $5. 00 respectively).
