Description of 1933 Buick Other 80 Series, model 86 |
1933 Buick Model 86 Victoria Sedan. Car is for sale Locally so I reserve the right to end the Auction early if the Car sells locally before the Auction is over. Wheel Base is 130 inches. 344 CID Overhead Valve Straight Eight Engine. 4,600 pounds there abouts, f memory serve. Car has been sitting since the 1950s, nd other than for the prior owner putting on some new Denman Tires and some new Spark Plug Wires and a Coil to Distributor Wire back when, t appears all 'Original' to my Eye ( which was why I got it in the first place! ) Still has what is left of a 1934 Chicago Vehicle Inspection Decal center top of the Windshield. Coil itself looks "original". I got this Car about 12 years ago, pent a day prepping it and drove it home. It ran great, remendous power and torque, acceleratedsuper smoothly from a dead stop in 'Third' Gear. Ran very well with no smoke, o vibration, o noise. Oil Pressure was good. PLEASE NOTE ! Car has various parts removed for cleaning and is not able to be driven presently. Gas Tank ( which is excellent, o seepage, o holes or dents ) is off...Manifolds are off...) So, e can not do any Drives around the block. Headliner is present but somewhat saggy and holey over the Passenger Seat area. Foot Rail in rear is intact, inged well, nd is not broken. Transmission is super smooth and quiet, s is the differential. Original Interior...all good but for the left shoulder area of the Driver's Seat, here things are frayed. Body appears to me to still be in original Paint. Doors have no sag, nd open and close "Like a Bank Vault". Fenders have dents and creases and have been touched up through the years. Front Bumper is good and no damage. Rear Bumper was broken on one end when I got the Car and I got a good rear Bumper to put on, ut had not put it on yet. So, omes with a good Rear Bumper. Rear Mount Spare has no Cover, ut does have the Factory Spare Tire Lock and Plate. Running Boards are dented. Front Passenger Seat is smaller than the driver's Seat. Might be out of a 50 Series. Crank Hole Cover is present. Top Wood Bows are probably good if some maybe having some sag. I have not seen them in ages. right away, e taped on a piece of Tarp over the old Top Insert. I do not remember if we removed the old Rubberized Fabric material or not. Once had the Car home I began to do some of the usual things to put it on the Road - I cleaned and Greased all the Zerk Fittings I could find. I removed the Gas Tank, rained it, lushed it out. Gas Tank had about 12 Gallons of ancient Gas in it, ut no seeping and no rust I could see, o rust holes, op or bottom. I drained the Gas Tank, id a little swooshing and cleaning inside and have not re-installed it. Gas Tank Hanger Straps are excellent no twists or bends. I removed the Side Cover on the Engine Block to clean out the Water Jacket there. Side Cover has some rust through but it still fine and sturdy all around it's edges. I removed the Intake and Exhaust Manifolds and Carburetor. Carburetor was fine, xcellent even...like brand new inside. Intake manifold is perfect. Exhaust Manifold is a three piece affair, nd parts of the Spigot-ends of the middle piece were broken as usual with these Engines. The rest of the middle piece is fine. The two side pieces of the Exhaust Manifold are fine, xcellent, o cracks or breaks. Water Distribution Tube has an old Solder repair where the Heater Hose would connect, nd also has some damage or is 'thin' at the big end where the main Hose would connect. Dashboard andInstrumentsare excellent. The thin little Gaskets of some of theInstrumentshave shrunken and are showing through the Glass. InstrumentGlass is curved Glass and all are perfect, hat may look like cracks in the Glass of the Gauges, re the old thin Gaskets which have shrunk and pulled in. Interior appears "Original" to me and is quite intact if showing its age somewhat. Seats are very comfortable, nd Fabric is still supple and not brittle. Tail Lights and theirStanchionsare in a Box with other odds-n-ends. Please contact me for additional images, howing all the things I have described above. I can only put 12 images in the listing, nd 12 is not enough. Crank Hole Cover is present. Crank is correct and original and is under the Back Seat in the Tool storage compartment. Body itself is very good, ith no issues or damage. Fenders and Running Boards have dents, reases and dings. The only Rust I find is in the tiny rib or 'Bead' line which runs between the Door and Running-Board on the passenger side. Driver side in that spot is fine. I had removed the sheet metal splash Pan piece which is down low and between the front Fenders and the open center area in the front, n order to access behind that area for cleaning and getting some Zerks going, nd that piece of Sheetmetal was bent and will need to be straightened ( again, ill show this in detail in additional images ). Shift Knob was/is the "Padded" one and it is somewhat squishy even yet, nd is a little deteriorated and still "Live". Passenger side Door Roll-Up Window is broken, ut Roll-Up Mechanism is fine. Drive's side Door Window rolls up and down just fine. All inside Door Handles are present and fine. Some of the other Window Glass is de-laminated and or Sun Yellowed. Steering is tight and excellent. I greased the Wheel Bearings. Brakes have not been adjusted or cleaned, ut they do work ( Mechanical Brakes on this Car of course ). I had to set the Buick work aside soon after beginning with it, ecause of needing the room in my Work Shop for other things, nd I never was able to get back on it. Now it is your turn to take things from here and do the old Girl justice. PLEASE NOTE - Car must be picked up within ten days of close of Auction, nd or buyer agrees to $15.00 a Day Storage, or additional days...which Storage must be paid in cash before Car or its Title will be released.
