This is 1940 Buick Special Business Coupe is a 2 owner car that was owned in Garnivello Iowa since it was new. It has stayed in a heated garage since 1953 until I bought it in 2008. I gave it to a restoration shop who told me I would be nuts to do anything to this car as it has such a rust free body, riginal paint, nd amazing petina. I elected to clear coat it to preserve the original look.

I took it to a mechanic garage to have it gone through and to set it up as a daily driver. I had the engine and trans gone through. I had the carb rebuilt and did a complete tune up with all new parts. I had a new 6 volt battery put in and replaced the old gas tank with a newer one but I did not put a sending unit in for the gas guage. I had new brakes put on, ew lines, nd a new brake master cylinder. I had a new exhaust installed. I put on 4 good wide white tires. I then sent the dash out for a complete restoration which replaced the cracked out guages. I replaced the old banjo sterring wheel with a banjo steering wheel that was in better shape. I took it to a upholstry shop and they told me to leave the door panels, eadliner, arpets original as they have a great petina and compliment the originality of this car. The Ivory buttons on the dash look great with no fading, racking or discoloration. The reupholstered the seat with factory correct Broadcloth. They also redid the trim in the trunk. All of the headlights, uages, nd taillights are working. The blinkers which appear on the buick emblem on the trunk come and go. The windows go up and down like they should and the doors open and shut the way they should.

This car Drives like a dream. The straight 8 engine purrrs like a kitten and you can hardly tell its running. It shift all of the gears like ti should and the car stops great. I drive this car on average 40-45 mph. When you go over 45 you can feel the shocks are worn and probally should be updated. I have had it up to 65 mph but it is a rough ride due to the shocks. I have taken this car on many car cruises and have taken it to many shows where it consistantly places first in survivor classes. I will be selling this car with the plates and plate toppers included in the sale but the a/c swamp cooler and dash magnets do not go with the sale as they are part of my personal collection. This is a numbers matching title that goes with the vin plate and frame number ready for you to register.

This car is a 100 percent survivor with a amazing petina that always gets thumbs ups and smiles anywhere I have taken it.It will definitely be missed out of my collection and hopefully will go to a good home where the new owner will appreciate how original and special this survivor is. As ever body has their own opinion of what a survivor car should be, recommend you come to inspect the car or hire ebay to do a independant inspection for you before placing a bid. I require a 500 dollar non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end. If I do not get the deposit within the time frame or before you come for the car, will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it. I can help recommend shippers I have used in the past who have been very resonable. If you have any questions at all, lease call 563 568 1182 or 563 568 5111.
