For sale today we have my personal car, 1972 Buick GS VIN 4G37K2Zxxxxxx. I bought this a few years ago intending to restore it as it didn't need all that much..the main thing is the front end damage from a very slow accident, hich you can see in the photos. Because of that accident, t got a salvage title from the insurance company. My bodyman says the hood is definitely save-able, nd as you can see the rest of the damage is pretty minor. It runs and drives GREAT, t has new ball joints, ie rod ends, D sway bars, o it steers and handles easily. The BFG tires ans wheels were new two years ago, nd have less than 500 miles on them.. Motor runs great ( a bit cold blooded- probably the choke ) but after a minute of warm up runs perfectly- NO SMOKE! This is a TRUE GS that came with dual exhaust, replaced the mufflers with slightly louder ones, little rumble but not annoying. It has the typical rust that these A body cars get, little rearward of the rear wheel wells, nd along the bottom of the rear window. My plan was to remove the front and rear glass, epair the rear window rust, hen reseal both glasses after paint. The vinyl roof is good except where that rear window rust is. I was going to replace the vinyl roof with the paint job. The interior is GREAT with only minor wear, bit of fading on the carpet which could easily be re-dyed black. The carpet itself is very good otherwise. The rest of the interior is real nice- the cardboard pieces that go inside by the rear roof section need to be replaced. The trunk key is missing but it does have the usual rust in the trunk. OPG.com has replacement trunk panels for this and they are not very expensive. The battery tray is also rusted ( as they all are ) and should be replaced. The body is quite straight, ppears to be the original color. It should take very little work to repair the body for paint. Frame rails are solid, o problems there. Speedometer works, as guage ok, think the charge guage isn't working. I drive this car 25 miles back and forth from my house to work here and there, t drives great, ut it needs a new fan shroud ( the last one was cracked in the accident ) I took the broken one out and haven't replaced it yet.Now the extra part..I have been collecting parts to convert this to a Muncie 4 speed manual transmission. I have the muncie trans with Hurst shifter, ell housing, an trans flywheel, nd some extra parts INCLUDING a manual trans type steering column! All you need to convert it is a pedal conversion kit ( $249 here on eBay ), clutch kit ( disc, plate, o bearing and pilot bushing ) and your labor. my homework indicates the driveshaft will work on the Muncie trans. So then you'd really have something..a true GS with a 350 Cu In, BBL Dual exhaust 275 HP V8 thru a Muncie 4 speed! now you have a REAL MUSCLE CAR! ( without a goofy brown or white or blue interior! )That's about all of it, f you have any questions - or want to work out a deal for buy it now-- you can E mail me or Call Stu at 619-315-8428Thanks for your time!
