Description of 1961 Buick 4 Door Hardtop Invicta |
1961 Buick Invicta 4 Door Hardtop. All of the door and trunk seams, ender bottoms and lips are solid - some surface rust at lower door seams. The 2 areas where there is a little bubbling starting is at the left and right rear doors at the bottom rear corners - see pics. There is some surface rust on the right side where the roof joins the quarter panel, ut it is very solid - see picture. This is not a bondo'd up car with a bunch of surprises - I think you will find some pin holes in those 2 rear door areas, ut the surrounding metal looks very solid. All of the exterior chrome trim is complete and in nice condition. Bumper chrome is driver quality with the usual fading. The rear bumper has a dent in the center. The paint on the car is an amateur repaint and you can see the original color in all of the door jambs and trunk. Hood, oors and trunk all open and close very nice and solid. This was a California car brought here by the previous owner and has obviously not seen our crappy Ohio winters. Underneath, nbsp;the floors and braces have light rust but are very solid - no holes. Trunk floor is also solid.Original Dash pad and seat covers are bad. The rest of the interior is good and the headliner is new. Radio does not work. Headlights, ail, rake, linker, nterior and back up lights all work. Wipers work, eater controls move, ut do not work. Speedometer and speed control "Buzzer" works. Mileage reads 146 K. All off the glass is good. Windows all roll up and down fine. Car has all new front and rear brakes and hoses, nbsp;all drums resurfaced, earings re-packed and new seals. The original single Master Cylinder was removed and it has been upgraded to a new Dual Master Cylinder and Power Brake Booster. It stops like a new car and has absolutely no pulling. The original 401 Nailhead runs smooth, uiet and strong with no ticking or smoking. It had a leaking water pump when I got it. While I was that far, also replaced the Timing Chain and Gears, uel Pump, hermostat and Anti Freeze, alve Cover Gaskets and Oil/Filter change. All removed parts were cleaned inside and out and painted. Motor was nice and clean under the Valve Covers. It had a bad Motor Mount, o I replaced both of them. Transmission shifts smooth with no slipping. Tires have plenty of tread. The 4 Door Hardtop Invicta's (no post between the windows when down) are getting somewhat hard to find. Not a 2 door, ut much more affordable and these cars look real nice especially when all 4 windows are down. This is a solid, ood looking driver car as is, r a very complete restoration car. This car is ready to go, t is a pleasure to drive, teering is tight and true, rakes are now safe and work great, t is smooth and quiet and will cruise down the highway all day long, ffortlessly. Title is clear and in my name. Car is located in Northeast Ohio. You can call 440-342-2379 if you have questions. John This car is for sale locally. I reserve the right to end the auction early if it does not meet the Ebay reserve price first. |
