Description of 1940 Buick Other

Dream Car Autohaus is offering for sale our clients 1940 Buick Special Touring Sedan. Finished in dark aqua with tan bedford interior this Straight 8 has been well maintained throughout its entire life.

This is a 3 owner car that started its life in Iowa and was originally finished in Acadia Gray paint. The car was restored during its life and the original paint was then changed to Bandellier Blue keeping the interior color original and restoring it with NOS material.

This Buick has the original 248 CU-IN straight 8 engine, carburetor, air cleaner and 3 speed column shifted transmission that was rebuilt many years ago and still runs smooth and quiet. The car was converted from 6V to 12V at the time of the restoration and the radio and clock were disconnected but were functioning prior to the conversion. The interior is beautiful as you can see from the photos. The original gauges were refinished, the dash is perfect, the glass is in really good shape with slight delamination on a window, the suicide style doors open and close with ease and the gaps are very nice. The car is rust free and very solid.

The paint is in beautiful shape and has some very minor chip on the drivers door near the key lock. the underside is solid and a new Y pipe exhaust was installed last year. The original trunk configuration has been refitted with NOS material and has the tools, jack and spare tire.

This is a fantastic car that would make a great weekend car, parade car or daily driver. Pictures do not do this Special justice. I welcome you to come and see it in person by appointment Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 5:00 PM.
