Description of 1970 Buick Other |
1970 Buick Skylark GSX White Rare GSX Historical Documented I am pleased to present this beautiful 1970 Buick GSX. Often described as "The Gentleman's Muscle Car". the 1970 Buick GSX was the king of the muscle car era. Dressed in only yellow or white. with exclusive trim. the GSX was very rare with only 678 examples manufactured in 1970. The engine was a 455 cubic inch monster with 510 lb ft of torque. the highest torque rating of any American car until the Dodge Viper in 2003! The VIN of this car is 446370H293064. Odometer shows 30. XX miles - exact mileage cannot be confirmed. This car is recognized and documented by the GSX Historical Society and Registry with a four page report. According to the Historical Society paperwork. this GSX was the 370th GSX produced in 1970. See photos section to view the report. This car was purchased by it's previous owner at the Barrett Jackson 2010 Las Vegas auction for $66. 00 including commission (see link to Barrett Jackson ad in link section). This is truly a Barrett Jackson quality car without the 10% buyer's premium. The powertrain is correct. non-numbers matching. The GSX was available with a Stage 1 option (different camshaft. etc) but the non-Stage 1 cars were more rare. Only 678 GSX cars were built in 1970 and this car is one of the 278 that were non-Stage 1 cars. Only 187 of the 678 GSX models were Apollo White (which this car is). so this is certainly a very rare and collectible muscle car!!
