We just want to ensure all interested parties are serious about following through with the sale should they be the winning bidder. This auction is for a 1953 Buick Super Riviera 4 Door Sedan. If you are into patina and the weathered look, this may be for you. This car is out of a collection of 50's Buicks that a friend of mine had for many years until he passed away in 2004. He moved here from California some time ago and this is one of the cars that he brought back with him. He drove it until 1994 and then put it in the barn with some of the other vehicles he acquired. We were able to purchase a few of the vehicles along with this one. We initially were going to use a lot of items from this car to fix a convertible that we have but we are going in a different direction. So this car is available. The car has the original 322 V-8 Nail Head Motor and Dyna Flow Automatic Transmission. We cleaned the points, hooked up a temporary fuel can source under the hood and a battery. The car started right up like it had been running yesterday. Runs very well. Even the exhaust is quiet. Transmission goes into all the gears with no problem. We just let it run for a short period of time as we did not have the radiator hooked up. The original one was missing so we replaced it with one from another 1953 Buick. That one came out of a Special which has a straight eight motor so you will need to re-route the hoses. The body on the car is straight as an arrow and rock solid. The under side is super solid as well with the exception of the two front floor pans. They have rust through and will need repair or replacement. Frame is nice and solid and still can see the frame numbers. All braces are good and solid. Just an amazing car to work with. As you can see the paint has gone by but gives it that nice barn fresh look. Some people would clear it and leave it as found. Chrome and stainless is in very nice condition. All glass is that nice deep tinted easy eye. Interior is all intact but headliner is aged as are the door panels and carpet. I tried a few things such as lights, high and low beam, parking lights, tail lights, turn signals and horn and they all work great. I removed the front brake shoes and hardware and put them in a box in the trunk. Rear brake shoes looked pretty decent. I lubed up the E-Brake and got that working so you can stop the car. You will have to get a battery as this style car takes the long skinny type 12 Volt. This car would make for a cool rat rod or just a nice fixer upper driver car without breaking the bank. Its getting hard to find something decent to work with thats under $5,000 these days. We are selling at no reserve so bid to win. Please be serious in following through with the sale should you be the winning bidder. We have the last New Hampshire Registration and proper dealer transfer paperwork for a smooth transaction. We require $500 non refundable deposit at auctions end and balance due 3 days after. If you need anymore info or pics feel free to email or call us at 1-207-324-5568 Days or Cell Phone 1-207-432-2862. We are willing to store the car to give you time for a shipper as long as the car is paid for in advance. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
