This extremely rare Model 24 Buick Sport Roadster is one of the finest examples in the nation. Privately owned for over 30 years and never previously offered for sale, this Buick exudes elegance. A rotisserie, frame-off restoration was completed over 20 years ago in northern Idaho by the previous owner. Many winters were spent agonizing over the most minute details in an effort to preserve this car's originality and essence of bygone era. Following it's completion, the owner brought the car to Tennessee where it remained in his private collection, only driven for the occasional parade, until just recently. To this day, the meticulousness of the restoration is evident as the car barely shows any signs of age. The wooden coach work is in excellent condition while the sleek body lines seamlessly meld together. The chrome is triple-plated to a mirror finish and the beautiful cerulean paint continues to shine with the depth and brilliance of the day it was finished. Nowhere, is there any evidence of rust or rust deterioration. The original 207 CI Engine starts easily with a quick pull of the manual choke before fluidly descending to a steady idle. Upon acceleration the three speed transmission shifts gently into gear and the roadster runs serenely down the road. Should it be necessary to brake, a driver is glad to know that this 1927 Buick comes equipped with single rear brake light, however, turn signals are still "manual". While 1927 offered little in the way of creature comforts, this roadster still boasts a comfortable interior. The entire interior including the seats, carpet, headliner, rumble seat and door panels are all in excellent condition. The dash and all gauges are also in good, original condition, complete with a working dash light, fuel gauge and rear back up light. Like other cars of the 1920s, this Buick comes equipped with separate golf bag storage, however, a possibly more useful feature is that the original steering design also included a column lock! This Buick Roadster is a unique addition to any collection. While some are quick to recognize a Model A or Packard, or even a Cadillac, this Buick requires a second look, and a thoughtfulness not afforded to more common pre-war examples. It is an incredibly stunning car and while its make and model may not be discernable upon first glance, its details are immediately enthralling. Please take the time to study the photos below to verify this vehicle's condition. I welcome any and all questions about this car, its restoration, and current condition.
