In comparison to cars of the era the Riviera represented one of the most successful American attempts at capturing European styling and performance in a large automobile. Positioned at the top of Buick's coupe line up. the Riviera always represented cutting edge styling and performance and deserves a place in American automotive history and which it has gained the hearts of true automotive enthusiast. Its performance and big block presence definitely attracted the buyers of all demographics. which led to its acceptance in the collectible car market. Its Position as a luxury coupe. the Riviera came with every conceivable luxury option and was destin to become the flagship of the Buick line. This particular 1968 Buick is a family vehicle passed down throughout 2 generations. Its recent restoration was completed and commissioned by father and daughter and holds a dear spot in each of their hearts. In true car girl car and dad fashion the car is done traveled just a few thousand miles since and it’s off to the next one. Undergoing a complete cosmetic refresh the vehicle has been repainted. re upholstered and mechanically gone through. Thousands were invested as each Father and Daughter strived to obtain a sufficient level of quality and performance to enjoy the car as their previous family members did. The engine the original 430 7 litre V8 was rebuilt. the transmission was rebuilt and shifts smoothly. rear-end and brakes all were done in July of 2011. Soon after the upholstery was redone in vinyl. The suspension received new shocks and front end rebuilt and a new carburetor. The car is in good overall condition. the paint is not perfect but very nice the interior is clean. the chrome and trim are good some touch up was done t the front bumper and it could benefit from a new one. however it is presentable. The rubber and tires are new the top is new. The car drives better then new. the engine has plenty of power. it handles well and stops on a dime. For a large luxury cruiser the vehicle is a good buy. has a unique style and desirable color. The vehicle is great for cruising around and can be enjoyed at various automotive events such as cruise nights. Buick meets. with just a little work you possibly could walk away with some top awards at your next car show.
