1989 Buick Lesabre HEARSE Funeral Coach VERY RARE!! 55,500 Miles Read Listing
This is a RARE 1989 Buick Lesabre Hearse. The car is front wheel drive and an extensive search on Google did not turn up any information on the maker of this car. If I were to hazard a guess, it would be S&S, but that is just a guess.
The car was acquired through an auction along with another hearse. I sifted through the paperwork in the car and fortunately, there was a phone number to the mortuary that last owned it. I called them and spoke to the owner of the mortuary. He told me that he recently purchased this mortuary and that it had gone out of business in about 2010. This car and the other were sitting on flat tires, had no keys and apparently hadn't run in years. He sent the cars to a local auction and we purchased them.
Mileage on the car is a very low 055,593.
We had ignition keys made and we got the car to start and run on ether. It runs very well but will not stay running unless the ether is continuously sprayed into it. It is not getting fuel and thereby we figure the fuel pump is toast and it will need to be towed to its new home. We can supply a video of the car running upon request.
The interior is blue velour and is in very good condition overall but does need a cleaning from sitting all these years. The rear compartment is just dusty.
We were able to get both front power windows to go up and down, but they are very slow. The power locks work, as does the radio and the blower to the heating and A/C. The A/C compressor does function.
The body is in very good to excellent condition for its age. The paint needs to be detailed. The top is in very good condition with no noticed rips or tears.
The tires on the car hold air but should be replaced. They should be considered rollers only. The hubcaps are original and the hubcap key is present and included.
KNOWN PROBLEMS: There are no door keys. The left rear door does not open from the outside. The car, at minimum will need a fuel pump to run.
So, that's its story. If you are looking for an unusual hearse to restore and drive, this is a great candidate.
