Description of 1963 Buick LeSabre

You are looking at a classic 1963 Buick LeSabre. This car is for sale locally so the auction may be cancelled at any time. This car has several interesting options added to it. It has factory a/c that does appear to work. I added two cans of refrigerant and it started blowing cold. I did not have anymore to add to it, but I have some ordered. It does still show a pressure reading a few days later which is promising. It has also been converted to R134 at some point. This car has the center console and floor shift which I was told is rare for the Buick. This was more common in the SS Impala.(It was brought to my attention from an ebay member, that this may actually be out of a Buick Wildcat rather than the LeSabre). I am not sure as it all fits up like original equipment, but I just wanted to make sure that I disclosed this. It also has directional lights. These are lights that when your turn signal is on at night it shines to the side you are turning to (extra headlights). It has a setting on the speedometer that when you reach a preset speed a buzzer is activated to let you know you have reached your predetermined top speed. It does have the factory Buick tachometer. The headlights, dash lights, and all the external lights work. I have not tried to get the dome light to work yet. The engine is sound and does not smoke. The 401 nailhead engine appears to be 100% original with the exception of the air breather. The engine compartment even features the original glass bottle for Optikleen windshield washer solvent. The engine is mated to the last year of the "Dyanflow" transmission. It is like a powerglide and operates very smooth. All of the glass is in good shape. There are no cracks in any of the glass. The car also has new dual exhaust with chrome tips. I have never sold a car on ebay, so I want to be as honest and straight forward about this car as possible. I don't want anyone to feel misled about this car. While it is in pretty good shape for a 55 year old car that has not been restored, it is in no way a show car. It is however something that someone can drive as is, and work on as they go along. I am going to list everything that I am aware of that I feel needs attention. The car drives down the road well. The brakes need bled, and the choke may need a minor adjustment, but overall it drives far better than I expected. The temp light did come on in the middle of a hot day at idle, but the car did not actually overheat. Once we took it down the road, the light went back off.The a/c may need re-charged or repaired. When I receive the refrigerant, I will try to top it off. It could however have a slow leak. The carpet is original and needs to be replaced. I have found carpet online for $179. I have also found the headliner for about the same price. I have not however, found door panels. The driver door window crank is missing the knob. The dome light needs a bulb and/or repaired. The seats will need reconditioning to look nice again. The driver seat is power. It moves in one direction, but not the other. It does make a noise, so I don't know if something is just disconnected. The trunk has no liner or carpet in it. The paint is not good (looks better in the pictures than it really is), but the body seems solid. The doors close well. The trunk shuts as solid as anything I have ever heard. This car is a great candidate for a full restore, or just to tinker with. The floors all seam solid and the body is straight. All of the chrome is there, but there are some areas such as the front bumper that are dented. Other chrome is excellent. Please let me know if you have any questions. I will try to answer them honestly and to the best of my knowledge. I would prefer that anyone interested, look at the car in person by appointment. I would be okay helping ship the car if necessary, but I will not set the shipping up. All shipping quotes and arrangements must be set up by the buyer, after I have received payment in full. I will issue a bill of sale as well as the title upon payment.
