1982 Buick Riviera Convertible VIDEO WITH LISTING 34,370 MILES FROM NEW! VIN: 1G4AZ67Y2CE439115 We purchased this ‘82 Riviera from a local gentleman who had owned the car since early 2005. 1982 marked the introduction of the first Riviera Convertible, and it came at a serious premium over the hardtop. While the base price of a standard Riviera was just over $14k, the convertible was about 70% more expensive, with a base price of $24k. For this reason, few convertibles were sold. Plus,... the convertible was only available in either white or red, and the red leather interior wasn’t up for debate. As it sits, this is a phenomenally comfortable, easy-to-drive, and rare summertime cruiser. Exterior: - Please see the video along with the listing, as every blemish on the car is shown close-up and in direct sunlight. - The car wears a high-quality respray of the original Firemist Red Metallic. There are a few paint chips which are all shown in the video, as well as a ding on the bottom corner of the passenger door. Overall, the car presents very well. - Chrome is very nice throughout, with minimal oxidation and no damage. - Wheels are in excellent shape, Road King whitewall tires are in good shape but we aren’t sure of their age and would suggest replacement sooner rather than later. - Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free. - White powered top is functional and in excellent condition. The car will come with both a red boot cover as well as a white one. Interior: - Interior is quite good. Seats are fantastic both front and rear. Very, very little for signs of age at all. No burst seams, major scuffs, or discoloring. - Dash top has a couple cracks, as seen in the photos. Lower dash is in nice shape, with no scratches or peeling on the faux wood surfaces. - Red carpeting is in excellent shape with no stains or real signs of age. - Gauges are all functional. Odometer reads 34,370 and is functional and accurate based on ownership history and observable wear items. - Power windows and seat adjusts are functional, as is the Pioneer Mosfet radio and all lights inside and out. Fan/heat/defrost are functional, R12 air conditioning compressor kicks on but does not blow cold. Under the Hood / Underbody: - Please take a look through the underbody photos, as it’s documented in detail. Underbody looks very good, with nothing more than some surface rust on exhaust components. All structural components are in excellent shape. - This car retains its original 5.0L 307ci V8, the most common of the Riviera Convertible’s 3 engine options. Service records with the car are limited, as with just 34k miles, we’re told the car has yet to have any major mechanical needs. Having put some miles on the car, there are no tendencies or noises that raise any concern to the well-being of the car’s mechanicals. - Ride quality is absolutely fantastic. Suspension is extremely forgiving; the car just silently glides down the road. Exactly what you would want from a luxury convertible. The car tracks straight under both acceleration and braking, stays cool, and accelerates and shifts smoothly with no hesitation. Overall, this is a nicely presented, ready-to-enjoy Riviera convertible. With any further questions, requests, or to discuss purchasing, please reach out to Jake at 773-303-6122.
