Description of 1968 Buick Skylark Grand Sport GS 400 |
Genuinely RARE. Solid. REAL. Numbers Matching. 1968 Buick Grand Sport GS400. The GS400 is Buick's version of the Pontiac GTO. Chevy Chevelle SS 396 and the Oldmobile 4-4-2. With a little general maintenance this GS400 Buick can easily be your next daily driver! She has been in Georgia all her life and never exposed to salty roads. This rare and real GS 400 is worthy of complete concourse restoration although a quick paint job would be a huge upgrade in value. I have personally owned this car for more than 10 years. I have a clean GA title. Will never find the time it deserves. ready to let someone else carry on the dream! Mike in Braselton. GA 30517You don't have to wait until the end of the auction to call me and make an offer! Best to just call or text if you have questions. Thanks. Mike 706-654-3500The original matching numbers Big Block 400-4 V8 engine starts right up. does not smoke. idles smoothly and runs very well. She gives the look of never having been modified and has plenty of power. The automatic transmission engages firmly and shifts as it should and will easily bark the tires when she shifts into second gear. The power steering and power brakes work well and do not appear to drag or pull. New bushings under the front end help to make her handle nicely. Look closely at the clean undercarriage pictures. The Frame. Floor Pans. Rocker Panels. Quarter Panels. Gas Tank. Exhaust and Suspension are ROCK SOLID! Fenders need a small patch. Hood has light surface rust that can be sanded off. Moisture trapped under the trunk mat is cause for a new trunk pan eventually. Obviously the vinyl roof needs to be replaced. She has some repairable rust under the vinyl top which is very typical for these types of cars even in Georgia. The roof needs to be sand blasted and the pin holes welded and metal finished. It is not a difficult job if you do it correctly. Interior could use a front seat cover for now. fortunately everything needed to fix up the interior is readily available from many parts vendors online. Transporting available starting at $1. 00 per mile from Braselton. GA. Call me for exact shipping quote.
