Description of 1981 Buick Grand National |
This is a very clean 1981 Buick Regalrestored and modified for the appearance of a1987 Grand National. I built this for my wife twenty-five years ago. I started with an absolutely perfect 1981 V6 Regal from Hershey, PA. It was a thirteen year old car with approximately 30,000 miles. I did all of the paintwork on this pristine originally-white, non-AC car. It has all of the appropriate Grand National parts. The PPG Deltron tri-coat paint is very, very good for a twenty-five year old paint job. You would be hard-pressedto find nicer work. The entire body was sprayed in the correct black, and then I added metallic blue pearl on all of the body lines to further accentuate the styling. Look for this in the photos, as well as the smooth, glass-like reflections in the paint. It has all of the real parts from a Grand National, including but not limited to the hood, wheels, emblems, grille, spoiler, taillights, bumpers, valances, and moldings. The car started with a 3.8, two barrel, and it has had a series of smallblock V8s.This is the third and fastest motor that I've installed in it.It is a newaluminum-headed ZZ3 Chevy crate 350, 345 horsepower stock. In addition, it has an aftermarket cam, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifold, and an Edelbrock carburetor.Heads and intake are ported. Accel distributor. Headers and Flowmaster exhaust.700R4 with an aggressive shift kit and B&M ratchet shifter.POSI rear differential with 3.42s.With this high output driveline,it is faster than original Grand Nationals. This driveline has been in the car for somewhere around twelve years. It has been driven 1,250 miles in the last seven years (since the last inspection), and only 16,000 total since its installation. In total, my wife has driven this car about 60,000 miles. The blue bench-seat interior is in excellent condition, and is a true testament to the care this car has been given by my wife, and the pedigree of that original white Buick Regal. It has been stored inside just about every single day for the last twenty-five years. It has never seen snow or salt and has rarely seen rain. On average, it is driven 3,500 miles per year. In summary, it has all of the looks and more of the performance at half of the cost of a real Grand National. This car is located in Greeley, PA 18425. I encourage you to see the car for yourself. Call Mark at 570-685-2680 for any questions, or to schedule a visit. This is a five day listing. It is scheduled to end on Saturday, May 4th, at 9:20pm eastern. Deposit required within two days, and we can store the car until paid in full. Pick-up in person is preferred, delivery arranged by buyer is acceptable, and delivery is available if within reason. |
