Description of 1940 Buick Roadmaster |
This 1940 Buick Roadmaster has the flame-kissed look of a street machine. And while it has enhanced V8 power, there's also so much more going on here. You have thoughtful features including an updated chassis, overdrive transmission, and comfy A/C interior. So dig into the details on one of the most interesting classics around. The Buick Roadmaster is considered to be more of a comfortable classic, and so it's just undeniably cool when someone goes against the stereotype and gives it this bold appearance. The flames consuming the front are a decal package that's so well detailed that they end in the same kind of multi-color tips you'd expect on a well-done Mercury lead sled. And the rest of the body has a glossy red that paints the trim and bumpers to give this a sleeker look. There's a speedy attitude here, right down to the sport mirrors and wide dual exhaust tips. But this one also stays grounded in its vintage appearance. After all, the rounder fenders have the classic pre-war look, and this even still retains classic Buick wheel covers. Inside is more of the speedy style, but now it's mixed with the right comfort upgrades. For example, the upgraded seating has a cool red piping to match the exterior, and when you fold down the front center armrest, you even get bucket-like individuality. But these are cushy seats done in a comfy tweed cloth, and the rear even offers limo-like legroom. So you know this is a great classic to share with family and friends. And to keep them all happy, you have great upgrades like power front windows, cup holders, and cold-blowing R134a air conditioning. But even when you're just going solo, this custom Buick is a lot of fun. It's a driver's machine thanks to a power driver's seat, tilt steering column, power steering, and upgraded AutoMeter gauges. Under the hood is where this one shows that it earns its flames. This is a 350 cubic-inch small block V8 that was rebuilt about 8k miles ago. It inhales deeply with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock Performer intake. And it exhales with a sweet-sounding dual exhaust. Plus, you have the right supporting components, like an electronic ignition and an aluminum radiator. There's plenty of more thoughtful upgrades to the build, including the 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission w/highway-friendly overdrive. And you also have four-wheel power disc brakes. In fact, if you look at the undercarriage photos, you'll notice this is riding on a far more modern chassis than a 1940s Buick. This was borrowed from a 1977 Cadillac, and so you have smooth riding features like rear trailing arms and sway bars front & rear. This is a Roadmaster of distinction that still never loses its easy cruising nature. It makes for a bold package that can do it all. So don't miss out, call today! |
