Description of 1964 Buick Riviera |
Please read the ad completely and carefully and view all of the pictures. It's a relist as it did not sell the first time but I received dozens and dozens of messages about "what's the lowest you will take for it". I'm opening the bid at $3,300 which is for the car with its original steel wheels and hubcaps on it and you bring your own battery. That's as low as I'll go. I can ad the Buick Rally Wheels and leave my new battery in it for $3,500. I took this Riv in on a trade as I’ve wanted one for a very long time and the Riv collector I got it from was reluctant to let it go but knew I’d been looking for one. Problem is my 61 Ventura that’s been in body shop jail is now ready for work and I’m pressed for cash. I don’t want to sell this and if I’m able to raise money elsewhere I’d rather keep it but starting with what I’m forced to do. This is a Great Lakes region car so lower quarters, rockers and floors need work. It has tilt, cruise, power windows, remote trunk release, trunk courtesy light, deluxe interior, bucket seats, etc. 425 4 bbl and Turbo Hydra 400 trans. As soon as I got it I went through the brakes, new master cylinder and bled them. Changed oil. Greased front end. New battery. New radiator. Flushed cooling system. Blower motor, courtesy lights, power windows, all work. I put my Torq Thrusts on so I can drive it around BUT IT DOES NOT COME WITH THESE WHEELS. It comes with the stock Buick steel wheels and hubcaps. The set of Buick Rally Wheels can be added for an additional amount. See the first paragraph. This is a running and driving project that sounds mean and drives great that you can restore while you drive. No smoke or knocks. Idles nicely and is plenty powerful. Shifts nicely. Nice, tight front end. No rattles, squeaks or odd noises. The driver side floor needs to be replaced. You can see in the photos the the rear section around the trunk lock is rusted out. It's odd because the trunk opens and closes like new and the trunk pan is fantastic. It's just the area around the lock and the rear brace from side to side at the rear of the trunk. The Riv collector said that the rear body mounts are there which is odd for this body style so I take that as a good sign too. The doors and front end sheet metal is nice and the doors close nicely. Everything lines up and opens/closes well. The hood and decklid are also very nice which is also uncommon for these. The main power window switch is touchy and will allow the windows to come down when I don't want them to so I left them in the up position and pulled the switch off so I can park it outside and know the windows are up safely. It could use a new dual exhaust and of course other bits and pieces a project car would need but this is a driver even as it sits.I drive it around my town but do t know it well enough to say fly in and drive it home to wherever. Plan on having it transported. Interior is decent. Driver side bucket seat is the worst. Both could use recovering. Door panels and rear seats are nice. Dash is decent with some cracking on the driver side corner which are shown in the pics. Console is nice. Headliner is nice. No rips or tears but a small hole above the drover's shoulder. Chrome deluxe trim needs to be re-chromed but I'd just pull and paint. I have extra parts such as the power window switch which is $150 and the rear package tray/seat divider for $85. These are not included but are available as extras. The two things I think it needs that I don't have are the lower turn signal "caps" that go under the front bumper and the rear license plate/bumper guard. I don’t mind answering as many questions as you have as long as you’re serious. I have a complete walk-around video of it running that I’m having difficulty uploading. PM me for the video of it’s not showing up here. International buyers are welcome. I'll do all I can to help but making all arrangements to pick up the car is the buyer's responsibility. PayPal is fine but I'm not paying the PayPal fees. You're welcome to use PayPal but you are responsible for paying the PayPal fee before I release the car or title. Feel free to ask any questions I have not answered. This is a running and driving car that you can have fun driving while you restore. Thx! |
