Description of 1972 Buick Electra 225 |
1972 Buick Electra 225 custom rapid transit machine. I've owned it for 4 or 5 years now and put maybe 2000 miles on it. I put a new transmission in 2018. A rebuilt Turbo 400 with Kevlar racing clutches, Hughes 2500 rpm heavy duty torque convertor, input shaft and shift kit. A Gear Vendor overdrive basically turns it into a 4 speed. About 2,200 miles on a built 462ci Buick engine according to the sticker in the window. Aluminum radiator with dual Flex a Lite fan with variable speed controller. Aluminum heads, forged pistons, balance and blue printed. D.U.I ignition. 3,000rpm NOS controller and programmable rev limiter set at 6200 RPMs. NO2 with a bottle heater and extra bottle, long tube headers with X pipe and 3" exhaust (mufflers are shot). Gear Vendor overdrive, Retro Tek electronic paddle shifter and billet steering wheel. Wildwood disk brakes. Burn out switch (line lock). It has a pair of drag rims that go with it, but only one drag radial left on them. The AC has been converted to R134, but it leaks. It has a Holley 870 DP racing carb that doesn't have a choke so it takes a minute to start it up on cold days. It has a little hesitation off idle, mostly due to the SP1 single plane manifold but it should be able to be tuned out for the most part. It's pretty lopey but it has good manners. It also has a little driveline vibration at highway speed. The car is in good shape, but it is 48 years old so it's picked up a little character over the years. Interior is all original and has wear on the driver side front seat. One front hi-beam headlight was replaced with an air inlet for the engine oil cooler. The previous owner paid $550 each for those bumpers! They're in decent shape. There is also a rear quarter panel on the parts list. The paint job is a 15 year old 10 footer. The power seat works, the power windows and locks go up and down, speedometer works and shows the correct speed, gas gauge doesn't work (fuel system has been modified), oil light doesn't work, it has been replaced with an oil pressure gauge, the turn signals work but the dash indicator doesn't blink one direction. There is a car stereo installed, but I don't think it has any speakers, it's just for show. It even comes with a Captain Ahab hat! Straight body with no rust. Clear title, in my name. New tags for Oregon. DEQ exempt of course. (In Oregon anyway) I'm selling it because I have a new business that needs a cash infusion. It's very fun to cruise around in and it gets lots of attention. I have a few more pictures I can send and I'll answer any questions that I can but I WILL NOT give my phone number to you unless you buy it so please stop trying. I don't have any documentation on the car other than maybe the receipt for the transmission rebuild that I had done (If I didn't lose it). The previous owner died some years ago, before I bought it. I never met him. As near as I can figure, this car was built in about 2005. I do have a hand written parts list with prices written on them from the widow, but I'll never try to argue that it's "documentation". All information about the history of this car before I bought it is hear-say and speculations. Here's a video so you can hear it run. https://youtu.be/TvUwisYk9yY Condition is Used. It is at my house in Oregon. I can be present to help with a prearranged pick up but all shipping details are up to the buyer. I'm staying out of it so there's no confusion about anything. Buyer has one week from the end of the auction to pay for the car in full. 10 days to pick it up. All payments are non refundable. Please be a no nonsense buyer. I will be a no nonsense seller. |
