Description of 1966 Buick Riviera |
Hello everyone. I am looking to sell my late fathers 1966 riviera. My father was a true lover of all things Riviera, and he even met my mother in a 1963 Riviera that he still owned when he passed. However, when he passed away in late 2016, he left me with 6 Riviera's total. I wish I knew the history of this car, but I don't. I know that he owned it for years, bought it from another Colorado owner, drove it occasionally with his dealer plate, but that about all I know. I have no clue if it is a true GS or not, but it does have the emblems, and the GS dash trim. I really don't know much about this car other than it was a running/driving car in 2016 when he passed. It was driven from his restoration shop and parked in the outdoor storage shortly before he passed, and it has not been touched since. The right rear tire will not hold air, and the headlights are stuck in the open position. The front bumper looks like it has a slight impact, and the gas has gone bad in the tank (smells bad). This is a project, but with minimal effort you could have a running driving project to work on as you enjoy it at the same time. I have a clear Colorado Title for the car, in the previous owners name (my dad was notorious for not putting cars in his name, but rather leaving the title "open"). The interior is all there hoever the seats will need to be re-covered, and the rest of the interior is what you would expect from a project. It's not terrible, but will need attention here and there. The engine does not appear to be original to the car. The engine stamp is KT, which from my research is a 1964 401 cubic inch engine. The intake is dates 3-2-66 and is red, but the rest of the engine is the early Buick teal green color like 1963-1964. With that said, this is a SOLID car, with some very slight bubbling around the left rear quarter opening, but from climbing around/under the car, the floors and trunk are solid. Also, the body lines and body gaps are beautiful and it looks like some body work has been done already. This car has been in rust-free Colorado for decades and it shows!. I am sure I forgot a lot, so message me with questions or if you want a photo of a specific area. Sold as is/Where is, with no warranty either expressed or implied. Buyer to arrange shipping at Buyers cost. I will be available to help load the car with the shipper. $500 non-refundable deposit required within 24 hours of auction end, and remainder due within 10 days. Paypal is accepted for the deposit only, remainder must be wire transfer, certified bank check, or cash in person if the buyer is local. Once paid, I can store this car for up to 30 days for no extra charge to give buyer time to arrange shipping. Shipping of this car is at the expense of the buyer and I can help with loading. I have sold many cars on here and finding a shipping company is not that difficult for them, so don't let that scare you off if you've never had a vehicle shipped before. I am sure I have missed things so please ask any and all questions! Thanks! |
