Description of 1957 Buick Super Riviera |
The 1957 Buick was a sleak car in it's day with long, low sweep styling. Its been called "beauty in motion". This one is restored from the ground up with some tasteful upgrades. EXTERIOR: Gorgeous pearl red color. Beautifully laid out metal flake is buried deep under the crystal clear top coat. It's polished smooth and glossy. The body is outstanding. It is laser beam straight, all the panels fit precisely. The doors click shut. All of the chrome is bright, straight and shiny. The stainless trim on the sides and around the windows are straight and polished. Door jambs are painted really nicely. Has new weather strips. It has excellent glass, they are tinted. It rolls on chrome baby moon wheels with Coker wide white wall tires. INTERIOR: Professionally redone. The seats, door panels and dash were reupholstered in a premium grade vinyl. The seats feel firm. The handles and cranks look new. The instrument area is in very nice shape. There is a retro stereo in the dash and a Satellite unit below. It also has a set of gauges and tachometer below the dash. It has an owner's manual in the glove box. The headliner and visors have been redone. The carpet is new and matching mats. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has it's original vin # matched 364 Fireball motor. It has been dressed up really nicely with a set of matched finned aluminium valve covers, valley tray and air cleaner lid. It features power steering and power brakes. Upgraded with MSD ignition and alternator instead of a generator. Also has an upgraded aluminium radiator with electric fan to keep it cool. Modern electric wiper motor. The metal is painted the same color as the car. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It has been professionally lined in carpet. It has a spare tire and a jack. There's also shop manuals and a nice soft car cover included. The bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb are painted to match the car. New weather strip. UNDERSIDE: It is exceptionally clean under this car. The chassis is a smooth satin black. The front end looks like it's all rebuilt. Looking up at the motor and the Dynaflow trans, they look new. New shocks. New dual exhaust system. The brakes were redone and upgraded to disc in front. The floors are very clean metal, neatly painted a smooth satin black. This is a great looking car, one of the best from that era. It is from an estate. An independent appraiser inspected this car for the family a few months ago, he contacted me to say what a really nice car it is. He appraised it at $45,000. This one functions as good as it looks!
